Sick of this coaching staff already. Defense looks god awful and the Eberflus is supposed to be a defensive guy. 9 games in and we're pretty much out of playoff contention already.
WTF? They traded what little talent they had in the front 7. The Front 7 is expansion level bad. You can't blame the secondary when the QB has all day to throw and barely gets touched. This coaching staff has shown an incredible propensity for in game adjustments, both offensively and defensively. Remember the huge differences in game before they traded RQ and Roquan? This looks like the best coaching staff since they lifted the Lombardi in 1985-86. They just don't have the horses in the trenches yet. It's 100% a talent issue and not a coaching issue.

Love what he's doing but If you want a consistent elite top QB he has to be able to play the small-intermediate qb style too. Like the failed pass to Harry to end the earlier drive in the 4th qb. It was a sign of him making the nice anticipation read throw. Just you see things like that and the final pass as good decisions the WRs are failing him on.

Do people seriously not remember ndgt complaining about how bad the Hawks were when they were winning cups?
There were so many I don't think I could remember who.
I used to complain too, some of them were legit weaknesses that were overcome. Imagine how many more points 19/88 would have if they ever had a good PP for more than one random season every few years during their window. IIRC only in 2011, 2013 and 2016 did they have a really good PP. In 2016 it was because Kane and Panarin were magic.

I had no idea he set a record yesterday for rushing yards. That's crazy.

So glad the coaching staff started coaching to his strengths...

Do the Bears finally have the QB we have been waiting decades for?
What freaks me out is that the Bears might actually have their QB but he's a prolific runner a la Vick, Lamar and Cam Newton and prolific runners get hurt because football is a brutal sport. A lot of running QBs decline earlier than prolific pocket passers because of the physical toll of taking hits. Just like how there aren't a ton of really good 28 year old RBs, there aren't a lot of really good 32 year old running QBs. Cam Newton was really good for 6 years and then he was just done. Won an MVP. Look at what is happening with Russell Wilson right now.

I'm giddy excited, but this thought is in my head too. I know I can be an insufferable eeyore at times but I hope I'm not coming across that way with this post.

He's...23.

Russell Wilson is a 9 time pro bowler and won a super bowl. I can live with Justin fields being in decline a decade from now if he can do that

He also threw the worst INT in NFL history. He will probably be more known for that than anything else. Which is terrible, that such an accomplished career will be remembered for his lowest moment.

First off terrible play call by Seattle and it was great defense by butler. Bang bang and went through the receivers shoulder for the pick. Wasn’t a bad throw.

Colts fired HC Frank Reich

10-6 (1-1 in playoffs) in 2018
7-9 in 2019
11-5 (0-1 in playoffs) in 2020
9-8 in 2021
3-5-1 in 2022

40-33-1

I don't think he will have trouble getting another shot at HC because he did pretty decent job given situation he had to deal with when Luck retired on them and its been an endless stream of stopgap QB's since (Brissett, Wentz, Rivers, Ryan)

Cutty wasn't decades ago

And at actual throwing of ball Fields has long way to go until he is Cutty level

I agree with all of this, but the result is literally one of the most shocking moments in NFL history.

It's more on Darrell Bevell than Russ though.

I just hope that moment doesn't take away from what Russ accomplished.

I was a big fan of the LOB Seahawks teams. Also I'm a big fan of their unis.

Cutty threw too many crucial INTs and had his worst games against Green Bay. He was average, but I think Bears fans generally underrate him a bit because of his performance against the Packers.

However relative to his peers he was slightly below average to average. That's the issue. He never ranked higher than 13th in passer rating and he never threw 30+ TD in a season.

Was he above and beyond anything the Bears had at QB? Absolutely. That just shows how putrid Bears quarterbacking has been for 70 years.

Colts replacing Reich with Saturday seems like a pretty blatant figurehead move. He'll have the locker room's support at least, though.
