I fvcking hate when refs decide to put the game in their own hands instead of actually doing their job. ESB should have caught him, but not calling an obvious PI is about as bullcrap as you get.

But Damnit, what a game by Fields. I think we have our QB.

And nearly everyone here told you that you were overreacting. You’d been calling Fields a bust since literally the minute he was drafted. And you based that draft bust call on one college game you watched.
I thought he was going to be just another Bears QB. Fields out of OSU was a giant toolbox but super raw. It was more based on cynicism about Nagy and his succesors being able to develop him than him being not talented. I am shocked they pulled it off. Fields struggled with accuracy until about four weeks ago and his footwork and throwing motion were terrible. Getsy and Janocko fixed all of it in one year. I did not think they'd ever be able to be smart enough to hire someone who had a clue about offense.

That was a thoroughly enjoyable game - I didn't think it would be but it was. Realistically the Bears could have and maybe should have won the game - a blocked punt for a TD, a non-call grounding penalty on Tua and a non-call DPI penalty when Chase got mugged.

Yeah the defense gave up 35 points but I consider that almost a moral victory considering they had to try to defend the best receiver tandem in the NFL with virtually no pass rush and the one of the worst defenses in the league at stopping the run.

Michael Vick is a bad comp, huh?

On defense, stars often make the big plays (that’s why they are stars) the Bears have recently traded their 3 best defensive players.
What is happening is exactly what most of us hoped for. … Growth at QB and by the offense in general while managing to NOT win games.

Yep, this season is the best case scenario.

Fields has been looking NFL-caliber the last few weeks. Very positive development.

Let him keep getting better and hopefully the Bears get an early pick in the draft.

There are 3 QB’s projected to go high in this draft. If the Bears pick is with 2 still on the board they could get a haul moving it.

Doesn't the blocked punt for TD mean the defense gave up only 28 pts?

Don’t see any way the bears end up picking in the top 6. They’ll be dogs against the eagles, bills, jets and possibly the falcons and I think at least 2 of those games are winnable
