Need to start using the younger players. Look at Moses. Zero points in 5 games with Barrie. Now has 10 points in 7 games with North Bay. Same thing with Ellinas in Kitchener. These younger kids are going to start asking for trades

No Beaudoin in the lineup tonight I’m assuming sick cause didn’t see an injury last night unless I missed it. Beaudoin did struggle last night but I don’t think Marty would healthy scratch him.all the lines mixed up tonight Vaughan getting more of a opportunity in the top 9 let’s see what he can do.

Elinias is a bad example, they released him. Moses got ok ice last season but mostly after they traded bodies out. He did get good ice to start the season as well but the roster was depleted waiting for players to come back from camps.

I get what you're saying though. Hopefully Vaughan takes advantage of the opportunity tonight and earns some of Marty's trust.

They will miss Beaudoin big time tonight.

Powerplay needs work, but came up big when needed. They need to get off to better starts. With that said, a huge road win in Brampton with no Beaudoin.
And the backup goalie in Hrebik did let in a few weak ones but still got the win 3-0 with him in net. Don’t think the colts will need to improve goaltending at the deadline.

Showed some resilience coming back from 3-1 deficit on the road vs. a good team and great goaltender. They should be proud of that one.

Luchanko-less Storm tomorrow. Hopefully Beaudoin is back and ready to go. He'll make a difference on the PP

Yes should be a game the colts win regardless of Beaudoin availability but Guelph got pumped by Flint last night so they’ll be coming out hard. If the colts can get that pp to start to click watch out. It was also nice seeing Vaughan score his first last night. Marty also had him on the ice with 1:30 left in the game so he obviously has gained some trust with Marty over the first month of the season.

Beaudoin is out with an ear infection. It was hampering him during Thursday night game. He probably will be scratched again tonight.

Unfortunate news about Beaudoin but good to hear it won't be long term. As for Hrebik, I'm starting to get more comfortable with the idea of him going the distance as the backup. While he's let in the odd soft one, he's definitely improving consistently and has made some huge saves. Shoutout to Colts goalie coach David Belitski as he's done a really solid job overall with the goalies the last couple years identifying talent and developing them.

Yes good news that it's not an injury.

Just read that Luchanko got sent down to Guelph by Philly. Not sure if he'll be back in time for game tonight

Yeah Vaughan deserves to be on one of the top 3 lines no doubt. And if Marty still thinks Lowe deserves that spot over him then he’s watching games blindfolded. 2 games on a top line and he’s got 2 goals.

Vaughan has certainly taken the opportunity and run with it. Gonna be very hard to drop him down now.
A nice game for sure but he def needs work on breaking puck's out cleanly, he had them hemmed in their end a few shifts.

Bode Stewart had another really impressive game. He carried that line tonight.

Definitely some rookie mistakes and that's why I was okay with him starting on the 4th line. Agreed on Stewart. Hope he can bury one soon as he's more than deserved it.

Vaughan sure looks good tho with more ice u can see the potential. Wonder what the colts are thinking with Vaughan tho. Do u trade him at the deadline or not. I think if u do decide to trade him it has to be for someone that isn’t 100% a rental but I guy that can hopefully be back next year to take another run at this thing. There’s only 2-3 names that make sense that wouldn’t be rentals 100% and that’s Mews in Ottawa which sounds like he’ll be traded. U got Luchanko in Guelph now that’s he’s returned from Philly and who knows he could be a rental if Philly decides to have him up all year next year. Then a super long shot but if Saginaw falls outta it I wonder if Parekh becomes available I highly doubt it but who knows. I think any of those options if any of them even are considered available would take Vaughan Tiller and probably 3-4 picks inside the top 5 rounds. But in the meantime the colts look to be catching their stride now and hopefully it keeps up this team really does have the chance to do something special.

Luchanko, Musty - I would say the 2 prizes both likely to be moved - will be Vaughan as a starter plus likely another roster and picks because so many teams will be bidding.
Lets say a McCoy/Allen/Pinelli/Mews/Foster/Lardis/Brown/Guindon/Allard/Romani/Delic/K Smith(if healthy)-probly a few others become available I would imagine Barrie and other top teams will all call. Prices will all be substantial to high. Not necessarilly but likely Vaughan plus depending who it is.
Peterborough/Owen sound vets will likely just fetch younger depth players, pics or prospects. Maybe a Newton/Lowe/Handsor. Although the backend looks great it would not shock me to see them target an overage D for Mem Cup run. One of Passmore/Handsor/Tiller and possibly Wigle (if they bring in overager) would be out.
I still think they might look at a depth goalie with Hillebrandt likely to be at World Jrs for long stretch even though Hrebik has looked good.
Vaughan and Newton may both ask out anyways as playing time won't be there down stretch assuming most stay healthy. Both kids would be playing decent mins on most other teams. Its pretty clear how Vaughan would do if given a real chance and newton hasn't played any significant minutes with top players to know what he's capable of offensively. Look what happened to Moses when he left. Moses and Vaughan more similar offensively as newton is more of a defensive banger which teams are always looking for. If Lowe drops which I'm assuming he will I would assume he will look for a move as well .
One thing I would be willing to put it all on red is Marty isnt done. Team is too close and 4-5 other teams will be getting better. He's not getting any younger and opportunities like this team don't come around all that often.

As a fan/season ticket holder I would rather see them keep Vaughan than trade him away for a rental. He can help them with now with the players they have. Depth on D and F are needed but I don't see the need to add a top end player unless there are significant injuries.

I agree if u trade Vaughan I think it has to be for a 06 player not a 05 rental

Definitely wish York all the best. Up until the end of last season I thought Wigle would be the odd overager out. However, he has really turned it up this year and last year in the playoffs.

Best of luck to York for sure. I expect he's gonna do very well in the USHL and given the NCAA rule changes potentially coming up he could get himself a good opportunity lined up.

Props to Wigle on earning the spot. He's really improved consistently throughout his OHL career. Really a versatile player.
