Barrie Colts 2022-23 Off-Season Thread

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. they may be able to pull that off, not sure if its realistic, but the numbers match up at least
 
interesting you guys picked up chisholm off waivers? there will be a new poster joining from the mississauga board now lol
 
Great win for our boys yesterday in Sudbury despite missing so many key players. Very excited to see team compete this year.

Lemieux really stood out that kid can play , such a complete player with speed to burn

How are you guys related? Or just a conincidence that all your posts are saying how graet Lemieux is and nothing else?

ANd your 3rd and final post was calling someone a drinker because they said Lemieux should be traded

Also I watched the game and if you had you would noticed he had a great game goal , assist and played a ton of minutes

Del Monte has a crazy set of mits and good speed. Sometimes his creativity gets him in trouble at the blue line (a la Kadri but...he's pretty good too, eh?). His shot is average and I had always wished his playmaking would develop but he never really got a chance to play with a goal scorer so it's hard to tell.

To me, he has a ton of potential boom or bust offensive playmaking centre with great hands and creativity. Hopefully he will develop some chemistry and consistency with a goal scoring winger - that's his best chance at being productive in the league.

I think we'll see a lot unfold as the OA's return from camps and whether or not Clarke comes back. Next few weeks will be all about the young lads showcasing what they can do.

Hard to say what happens with the OA's, but we are deeper at forward than D - so if Lemiuex is moved, we'll need to make some moves for a solid top 3 D-man coming back somewhere else.

Regardless, team looks good and it's going to be a fun season up here in Barrie.

...and in London, we are much deeper at D than at forward. Another deal to come, perhaps?

according to gene clarke may get in some nhl games.

@David branch - cue the new random rule where if your name is brandt and you get a few nhl games in as an 03 born this year then you can play in the AHL all season despite the nhl ohl agreement that says you cant

Keep in mind that’s Erie. I think oshawa had the right idea poke checking him before the twist he does there

I sure hope not, but I could see jt happening. He did not show up to camp at all, so perhaps it was the plan all along. I thought it was weird that the captain wouldn't come show face and welcome the kids.

No. Harrison and Ertel out for sure. Sounds like Butler might be too. We'll see what the line is but wouldn't go anywhere other than BAR -1.5
