Barrie Colts 2022-23 Off-Season Thread

Were these the lines last night?
York-Haight-McDonnell
Jelsma-Veirling-Cardwell
Grisolia-Frasca-Mathews
Lowe-Bodoin-Jodoin
 
Since barrie and Saginaw have close ties and a trading history between both management systems, I can really see a late November move to acquire both bloom and mintyukov from SAG.

Not sure if that would be aloud seeing as they haven’t declared sale a no go? Maybe they would if such an opportunity arose.

Bring cash. No credit or debit. This is so he can make $2.50 on everyone in the building when they go for what is now over a $10 can of beer they’ll need the ATM to purchase one.

Arena is freezing cold. I don’t know if anyone is facilitating heat in there.

SAG wouldn't do a trade like that before January

Neither will be back the year after so makes sense they would. Saginaw has drafted Petr Hauser they could bring in as an import if Mintyukov is moved. I imagine the price tag for both would be quite high. Potentially the best offensive defensemen in the league and one of the better power forwards in the league arent going to go cheap

If it was your last year would you want to go to Kingston?

There are other teams that he could be on that are going to be more competitive.

Might want to see what he looks like in a barber pole

im not even sure if del monte is in north america right now, thats how bad he wants out of barrie

He wasn't in the pre-game lineup they released. I wasn't there but according to box he didn't dress.

I'm looking forward to seeing the final pre-season home game against Kitchener on Saturday. Hopefully they dress all four of the rookies.

I thought Wigle and Pickell both looked good in the Blue and White game when I was there. Wigle, more specifically. Hopefully both take a leap forward in their development this year.

There’s too many players on this team.

Like there’s no room for these guys IMO. Unless they can trade more well known players and label them as expendable if those young guys are legit enough
 
Del Monte was one of the most highly skilled forwards on the colts last year. He has exceptional hands and offensive instincts. His shot is average and he is small though. I think if I were him, I would have gone to Kingston, he would have received good playing minutes. Colts don't have room for him this year. Regardless, I hope he ends up with an opportunity, I really think he has potential, especially if he can bulk up.

As a sign of good faith before the Harrison for Beaudoin trade at the deadline, the Gens will take Tai York off your hands now to give him somewhere to play

I would have given you tai York year and a half ago for your left over lunch from the day before.

He’s legit now. Nice surprise

no clue. i just know hes one of a small handful of guys that were there last year who did not enjoy their time and would not like to be back. most come back, hes one that did not to my knowledge.

He may now play for Germany internationally - but he is Canadian through and through. Don’t even think he speaks a lick of German.

Let’s talk about Frasca.

Showed promise before covid.

This guy all last year was never able to make plays and get things going.

I’m seeing the exact same thing early on.

I hope things work out, he does wear the A but yeah.

I Think he is what he is. Play him as a grinding centreman. He wins draws and can be responsible defensively. I just don't see him as anything else, even as an older player in the league
