Ok, thanks, good to know!

Yup, Lavoie was a flawed prospect who dropped from first round projection because of the low pilot light that flickers on and off. Such a shame to see players who have all the natural gifts and toolkit who lack the mental aspects of grit, resiliency and work boot mentality to succeed.
McLeod was criticized for not going into the dirty areas and looked like he was going to continue with that issue until he was sent down his last time to Bako. Since then he has been a completely different player. Unless Lavoie has a similar wake-up call, he is done like dinner.

Personally I'd be surprised to see that. The Oilers will be onboarding Maximum Warner next year and Munzenberger within the next two years. Both in-house left d prospects who they will want to have ability to develop at a reasonable situation with upward mobility. Warner in particular looks like a player who's game has some pretty solid utility against junior age competition.

RW and volume shooting finisher types are missing at the NHL level and within the Oilers system. If there is something off with the relationship between Lavoire and the organization I could maybe see this player as an add-in to a trade that helps the NHL team now. But would be surprised to see him moved for a project defenseman when they have their own guys to prioritize and develop. Will be an interesting situation to watch. Wake-up call or last call tbd.
Isn't Wanner a right shot D though?

There seems to be some shallow depth on the left side of the roster in Bake and it's unlikely to be added to next season with Munzenberger and Yevtseyev returning to the respective programs.

The brief time I viewed Gildon the last time he was here, he seemed to get a lot of ice and was relied upon heavily. He's also at a point where the initial NHL callups should be occurring.

Yes, he's a right shooter. The right side will be loaded with young prospects, Kesselring, Kemp and Wanner. Not sure if any have versatility to play both sides. Left d is still working to develop two near NHL ready d-men, Broberg and Neimelainen. I think Peters is a reasonable age LD. Summation, I don't think the Oilers who are system deep with a variety of d-prospects and bereft of bigger body skill forwards would make a minor league flip for a guy like Lavoire.

I don't know who this Twitter guy is. Not great that Lavoire is healthy scratched especially when several Bako players are recalled to Edmonton. He is a player with a really compelling toolkit but seems to slip into indifferent play not using that big frame. Think it would be very unlikely the Oilers would not re-sign him - it would be a pretty premature call on a volume shooting right wing with size (a weakness on the big club and prospect system). Could see Lavoire as a trade chip add-on though.
Lavoie had issues last year too and then went on a bit of a heater only to slow down again I believe. From listening to Woody last year it really sounded like he was having issues buying into a pro game where he couldn't dominate the way he did in junior.

The fact that they are allowing Florida to loan him to Bakersfield does speak volumes though.

He's a streaky player. Still somewhat inexperienced as a pro though with the covid freshman year time spent in Europe and 19 games in Bakersfield. Shortened sophomore year (56 games) ended early with a major injury. Missed all of training camp still re-habbing.

Have to be careful rushing to judgement on pro prospects. The hardest jump they make is from junior to pro. Throw in a covid year and followed up with a major injury, there's valid consideration to work longer to try to help Lavoire find his game and consistency. Now all bets would be off if there's some tension we don't know about between prospect and organization.

He's been assigned to Bakersfield before. I don't know the details of 'why' but Bakersfield is obviously familiar with the player. Stated in my last post why I would be careful rushing to judgment on Lavoire (unless there is some major disconnect between player and organization). Lavoire seems like a add-in type to a big club team if he were to move moreso than a flip to their prospect pipeline's strongest area of near-ready NHL talent and mid-range guys still to come.

There was issues with lavoie last year so who knows. I don’t think he has much of any value to be honest. Maybe you get lucky and hold onto him for a few more years, but I’d you can get something deemed better now I think you take it

If he's an add-on sweetener to a trade that makes the big club better then do it. I don't know the relationship between player and organization. Is back in the line-up after the one game healthy scratch so we'll see where this goes. Per prior posts, I wouldn't rush to judgement on this kid's size and toolkit.

EDIT: Just saw post above. I had read online he was going back in the line-up today.

Gildon who was loaned to Bakersfield during the covid season because Florida shared an AHL affiliate with Tampa. They didn't have room for him. I believe his contract with Florida is up at the end of the season. Unlikely he resigns with Florida.
For an offensive defenseman, he isn't getting the points I feel that he should be getting. And for a big body, at least the games I've seen, he's gotten pushed around a lot.

Good luck!

I hope you guys Crush Ruby. I strongly dislike that player.
I'm from near London Ontario, so I got to watch Matthew play Junior hockey. To say I was excited about the trade is quite the understatement.

Saw Tkatchuk in the Mem Cup in Red Deer and thought I was watching McDavid's future left winger. Unfortunately as soon as the Canucks opted for a wildly overrated Juelevi (sp) I knew that dink was going to Calgary and would be a thorn. Solid player but I grew to lose respect for the sideshow that grew into the player's game. But digression aside, appreciate the farm information provided!

Condors regressing back down to the old Oklahoma team where AHL vets get key ice time and the kids rot on the bench and in the press box.

Colin Chaulk riding a 6 game losing streak and player development seems to have stagnated.

Oilers gonna oil.
