Anyone who has been around as long as you, myself or Jadeddog are going to have some dumb takes over the years. Happens to everyone.

To be fair, that one probably ranks as my dumbest take, even though it gets reported incorrectly all the time. My take was more: "if he doesn't stop trying to score all his goals in tight by doing his back-and-forth move, he will have trouble consistently scoring goals in the NHL". But that is too nuanced of a take, so people like to reduce it to "hur-dur he'll never score goals in the NHL". Oh well, people will be people.

41 saves and an assist for Olivier Rodrigue in a 2-1 loss to San Jose tonight. Bounced back nicely this week after a rough one against Calgary last weekend, also had a 31 save 2GA win on Tuesday.

I think people were quick to basically write him off as a prospect. The same happened with Skinner, with one of the Sad Boys calling him a bust after his first season in 18-19.

Before this season, Rodrigue had only played 24 AHL games.

Great to see his stock rise again, while other players (like Lavoie) see their stocks fall.

Oilers better win my neighbor has been blasting Mariah carey's all I want for Christmas at least 8 times today mixed in with nickelback randomly. Needless to say I am rather "pissy".

Gentlemen-- What happened to 4K? Is he still in the Oiler system?
Mental health leave. Still under contract but doesn't count towards cap.

I know that Lavoie is coming off a serious injury but only 3 points so far? What is his biggest drawback on the ice---skating?

Only viewing by box scores but looks like a pretty rough year for Bakerfield in general. Just not a lot going on. A lot of our wingers aren’t very productive. Wonder if Holland should of tried to get some more offensive centers for the team.

Looks like Kesselring and Rodrigue are having decent years at least.

I don't know who this Twitter guy is. Not great that Lavoire is healthy scratched especially when several Bako players are recalled to Edmonton. He is a player with a really compelling toolkit but seems to slip into indifferent play not using that big frame. Think it would be very unlikely the Oilers would not re-sign him - it would be a pretty premature call on a volume shooting right wing with size (a weakness on the big club and prospect system). Could see Lavoire as a trade chip add-on though.

This bcurlock fellow knows his hockey. He’s worth a follow. This was also the knock on Lavoie in junior.

Could see him flipped for Gildon if this reassignment pays dividends.

Ok, thanks, good to know!

Yup, Lavoie was a flawed prospect who dropped from first round projection because of the low pilot light that flickers on and off. Such a shame to see players who have all the natural gifts and toolkit who lack the mental aspects of grit, resiliency and work boot mentality to succeed.

Personally I'd be surprised to see that. The Oilers will be onboarding Maximum Warner next year and Munzenberger within the next two years. Both in-house left d prospects who they will want to have ability to develop at a reasonable situation with upward mobility. Warner in particular looks like a player who's game has some pretty solid utility against junior age competition.

RW and volume shooting finisher types are missing at the NHL level and within the Oilers system. If there is something off with the relationship between Lavoire and the organization I could maybe see this player as an add-in to a trade that helps the NHL team now. But would be surprised to see him moved for a project defenseman when they have their own guys to prioritize and develop. Will be an interesting situation to watch. Wake-up call or last call tbd.
