Lander is 5x the player of giroux. Hes a dominate 2way player at the ahl level. Giroux was a 1 dimensional player

He's also a useful player at the NHL level at least in a defensive role. I'd hope that if we can move out Hendricks that we'd let Anton finish the season with the big club.

Wonder why is there such a big difference in Lander's play at NHL level.. Cant possibly be just the foot speed.

I have the feeling that they are kind of show casing him. He would be as good or better than a couple of our 4th liners but he is not a significant upgrade. So they send him down to where he is playing with a better ppg than anyone not named Arcobello for the last 10 seasons (or more, I didn't go back further).

If he keeps this up he will have value and some team will be willing to take a chance on him. Maybe I am wrong, I hope I am because I really want to see him succeed in edm and not somewhere else (if he manages to succeed of course, odds would be against it).

We beat the baby Flames last night too, 6-3.

Jonas Gustavsson stopped 18 of 21. Beck add two and an assist, Laleggia with a pair and Reinhart got his third of the season and added a helper.

Eh likely a way to get some nice weather during winter. Plus I could see Gustavsson having a good run in the AHL, his hyper aggressive style is likely to have more success there than in the NHL, where players can pick you apart. It could also be a good way to boost his value for a bigger contract before bouncing back to Europe.

Also if he ended up in Sweden this season, a good portion of this contract would go to taxes. This could be a way to save ~15-20% of his money.

Reinhart has been quietly turning his season around after coming back from the back injury.

Ellis was ng picked apart because we lost a significant amount of our defense (Fraser, Simpson and Fayne, I think). They also played top teams and Ellis has not played in a very long time. Comparing him to LB here in the AHL his numbers were better but when you have not played in weeks or a month it can make a difference.

As for Gus he was ALWAYS planning on coming here but he had as all NHL guys visa issues. I was told in the past that both the ECHL and the AHL use the same visa. However the NHL is a different one. Obviously this is stupid as both the NHL and AHL should have the same visa, but that is not the case. Once his visa was issued he flew into Stockton to meet the team. he then played the very next night.

When LB played his first full season in the AHL he was back up to Bachman and did not play that many games. I think the same holds true for Ellis. With Gus here he will still be back up and play that role. Gus played a HELL of a game. We were down 3-1 after the second period I think and came back to win 6-3 in the third.

Matching natural LW Mitchell Moroz's career AHL high in an entire season.

...and nearly half-way to his career goal total.

It's really too bad that Moroz couldn't have ended up being a Maroon or even Kassian type. His pro career has been a flop.

His pro career shouldn't be considered a flop. Simply put, Moroz should never have been drafted as high as he was.

Not his fault, but he should have been a late 3rd-mid 4th rounder at best, not a high 2nd, based on his Junior career.

He may someday find his way to the bigs as a 4th line grinder, but it will be a long battle for him.

Seems like Laleggia is working at wing.

5 goals in his last 6 games.

Legs should get some credit. Hes got some serious skill. But I think hell end up like Arcobello or Hunt. really good AHL player, never could cut in the bigs. Ofcourse he has a ways to go at forward before matching arco, and if he gets switched back to D- also a ways to go to match Hunt.

But playing JP with him is no issue. Hes got mad skill

Not a good year for Oil Kings alumni.

Reinhart in the minors.

Lazar with a 1 single point in the NHL this year.

Samuelsson with two bad years in the AHL in a row after a great start in his rookie year. (Injury did him in last year)

Moroz being Moroz

Good to see Jarry doing well though!

Reinhart's game is picking up. If he keeps trending like this, I can see a call up in his future.

LB just got his first NHL win. Maybe he'll break the cycle.

Lazar, Samuelsson and Reinhart have all dealt with some pretty major injuries in the last 2 years. While I wouldn't be surprised to see their struggles continue, I also wouldn't be surprised to see them round into solid, consistent NHLers next year or the year after.

Jarry could easily be backing up Murray next season. LB likely backing up Talbot for the full season next year.

LaLeggia is becoming a borderline legitimate winger prospect.

7 goals in his last 10 games at wing.
