It looks like we got 17th round pick LHP Cooper Benson signed as well for $125,000 according to the MLB Draft Tracker. He was a draft-eligible Sophomore (only eligible because the draft got pushed to July this year) who blew his elbow out after one start I believe. He should be one to watch as I believe he could have gone much higher had he not been injured.

Also if the Padres get Scherzer without giving up Gore, Abrams, Campusano or Hassell, I’m going to be pissed.

Just looking at the Fangraphs rankings, but they have Abrams as a 60 FV and Gore and Campusano as 55s. Even for someone as good as Scherzer, there's no way those guys should be on the table for a rental.

Not really, funny enough the Yankees had the Rangers and the Cubs pick up all of Rizzo’s and Gallo’s salary this year to stay under the luxery tax

With how hard Gore's stuff has taken a hit this year, I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying their hardest to cut bait.
