Are we cutting bait on Dolis?
That list is also missing Borucki, which leaves one less spot should another reliever or two be brought in. If that is the case, there is almost no spot for Dolis on the roster. Although, I suspect Borucki stays and Saucedo goes down to get another righty in the pen. I can't see them carrying 4 lefties unless Hand is strictly a closer.

Ideally we bring in enough depth to push all three of those guys down the depth chart.

You have to think that the acquisition of Hand points at the Jays making some more moves between now and 4pm tomorrow.

If there is a way to acquire Schwarber from Washington I would be all over it. It would only cost prospects and no one off our current roster. In another trade I would trade Gurriel as with Schwarber we would have too many OF and DH types.

If there is a way to deal Gurriel, Biggio, Jansen and prospects to Cleveland for Ramirez, Plesac and bullpen help. You do it. You go all in.

Springer - CF
Guerrero - 1B
Semien - 2B
Ramirez - 3B
Bichette - SS
Hernandez - RF
Schwarber - DH
Grichuk - LF
McGuire\Kirk - C

Ryu
Ray
Plesac
Matz
Manoah

People may say that we may or may not be giving enough in the deal. But the players going back to Cleveland are all controlled and cheap. Just how they like them. All in positions of need (C, 2B, OF).

Is it possible, if so I do it.

This is horse crap and why MLB needs a salary cap. How the hell can a team like the Padres have a rotation of Scherzer, Darvish, Snell, Paddock, Musgrove, Clevinger. 5 potential #1's????

Those 5 pitchers alone are some teams entire salary!!! Horrible.

I really hope they get knocked out so this nonsense finishes. Hope they go the way of the Florida Marlins.

Padres acquire everybody. But just glad he didnt come to the al east.

Their farm system should be bare by now shouldnt it???? How did they have better prospects than everyone else for all these deals? They must of hit on all draft picks!!!! Crazy.

It pisses me off sometimes. Like the gallo deal with the yankees. How do they trade 4 mediocre guys and get texas to pay the entire contract? Then u look at the padres they have a rotation of 5 guys that get paid more then entire teams

It's not the Padres' fault that the MLB has cheap owners littered around the league that do everything they can to cut costs.

People have their anger pointed in the wrong direction.

How do the Padres even have the asset capital to grab every single major SP on the trade market year after year?

I mean... Darvish/Snell/Musgrove/Clevinger/Paddack makes less than Ryu/Roark/Ray/Matz/Stripling.

2020-21 Padres killing our 2014-15 acquisitions:

Jays acquired;
Donaldson
Price
Martin
Tulowitzki
Travis
Saunders
Estrada
Smoak

Padres:
Darvish
Snell
Schrezer
Musgrove
Clevinger
Frazier
Nola
Melancon
Kim

Imagine having your major league rotation as;

Darvish
Snell
Scherzer
Musgrove
Clevinger

And you have the following youth and players in the pipeline;

Lamet
Paddack
Gore
Weathers
Morejon

Also if the Padres get Scherzer without giving up Gore, Abrams, Campusano or Hassell, I’m going to be pissed.

Even though we didn't get Scherzer, I'm actually glad we didn't get a rental we have no chance re-signing.

Padres had the #1 farm system in baseball 2 or 3 years ago, and they've gone completely all-in with it.
And it hasn't worked yet if the only goal is a World Series.

I am not sure trading for that many front line starters is a great idea. Darvish and Musgrove are fine, Snell hasn't been great and Clevinger is coming off major injury and is a question mark.
