Babcock has an extraordinary "resume" (track record) for being an asshole of the highest order.
I would just say that I have pictures and/or videos that are of the private nature but I'm willing to show other stuff. When you're 18 and older you're suppose to have reached a level of maturity that makes you able to say no to certain things. If you haven't reached that level, like some of the Blue Jackets players haven't, you shouldn't be allowed to vote either.Pretend for a second you weren't, and instead you were a 20-something millionaire athlete, and the 5th or 6th thing on your phone was an intimate video your wife/girlfriend sent you to tide you over through a couple of weeks of prospect tournaments and training camps... I'm sure you'd be fine with your coach checking that out before training camp even starts "to see what kind of man you are."
It's not about having "something to hide," it's about having something that's none of your f**king business.Look, if these kids truly have something to hide, that's a point of concern, no?

Trust on a personal level and trust on a professional level are two different things. It is famously said that all the players on Montreal Canadiens hated Scotty Bowman 364 days a year, and on the 365th they got their championship rings. And Scotty Bowman is regarded as the best NHL coach of all time.
Nothing to be concerned about cause nobody has the right to access that info unless personally disclosed. How is it that hard to understand?Look, if these kids truly have something to hide, that's a point of concern, no?
NO!!!!!Look, if these kids truly have something to hide, that's a point of concern, no?
Did you miss the part where he confronted a player outside of the rink and took their phone and searched it for several minutes?I honestly think this is a nothing burger kind of thing. If they don't want to show stuff on their phones than don't, he doesn't have the ability to force you to show your phone. Do I agree with Babcock? No! That said this isn't something that should lead to anyone getting fired or resigning. People are acting like Babcock is like one of the worst people on the planet, when the biggest things he has done to date, was ask a player for a list of low effort players and ask to see phone stuff.
I wouldn't have done either of those things as a coach, but they also aren't that big of a deal as far as piece of crap people are concerned. The stuff with Franzen is not really clear what he did, and would be the bigger deal of wrong doing.

No. That’s not how this works.
Do you think the players were free to make the decision to decline without it affecting anything at all from their perspective?Did he take it? Like as in, ripped it out of a players hand? Because I haven't seen that reported anywhere. Only thing I have read is that he asked players for phones and they gave them to him. If he took them by force, wouldn't he be in trouble with the law, not just fired from the team?
The Blue Jackets went through the process of hiring a coach who already had baggage attached to him. Now, before the season even starts, they're letting him go. This is a nightmare for their PR and HR departments. But do you think a guy who got a second chance as a coach (by the way Keefe has been worse than Babcock, as Babcock got fired just as the Leafs were hitting their stride while Keefe has a laundry list of playoff chokes) would deliberately try to do something that would get him fired right away? What do you think his intent was? Unusual as it might be, it doesn't strike me like his intent was bad at all. Does Babcock strike you as a guy who has ever really been up to par with the youth of today? It seems to me like with some princesses it was a misunderstanding, and that's about it. Why it went further just tells you how soft the NHL is today.
Nah, Foligno was.Even if he didn't do anything wrong, I'd strip the C off Jenner and bring in some good locker room guys. Jenner was the C when the pld gong show happened, right?
It's not like they were going to make the playoffs.

If you see no issues with your authority figure/boss requesting your phone so that they can search and look through it then not much else to discuss here lol.Did he take it?
