I think there has to be more to this story. But apparently there must be a written rule in the NHLPA privacy code that speaks to this and it was determined that Babs violated it and due to his past there is no second chance clause.

Ah,so noted frat boy and Babcock hater “Biz” is the way to get things resolved

Ya because he did.....

A player went to a guy he is comfortable with that has a large platform and talk to him. Good on the player for going to someone they trusted. Frat boy or not he got the message out because he is one of the biggest voices in the sport right now whether you like it or not.

Biz is a moron but he is on TV with the NHL and has probably the top NHL podcast.

Right, but noone carried naked photos, bank statements, private notes, passwords and the whole freaking internet in their wallets bro.

It is a dumb point.
So if they don't carry photos in their wallet anymore, how do you ask to see photos? Not their phone?

Maybe ask them to go get them developed and hand them in if they know what that means...

I see a lot of posters claiming this is like your boss at work, but I don't think with your McDonald's boss, you travel on the bus or plane to work everyday with them, or you spend the night together in the hotel with your boss, or you sit down after work and go over video of what you did or didn't do right for a couple hours. I'm pretty sure you clock out and stay away from your boss as much as possible, but will try and compare them as the same.
So let's say I'm a roadie or sound guy for the Rolling Stones, I should let Mick and Keith see my private pics and have access to all my personal data?

NONSENSE

You ask them to show you not ask for their phone. Also you ask about their family not photos of them. Again they are like 20. Their family is their parents and young siblings probably. Not like they have kids.

Player "Ya Mike I have a 17 year old sister."
Babcock "Great do you have photo of her."

Lol

Nah, they went to apodcast with a history of shitting of Babcock to say “get a load of this nugget!”

Again Jenner never said that was the case, he showed them to Babs because he asked lol.

I’ve listened to id say 5-8 different podcasts on the situation. Read a few articles as well. The consensus is pretty clear. It was one younger athlete that we know of that was uncomfortable. Many podcast and radio shows asked former players both in Detroit and Toronto if they had dealt with this situation while they had Babcock as a coach. Some said yes, some said no. Some said they didn’t mind it, some said they weren’t asked to share photos but would have said no.

I’m not defending Babcock at all, I think it’s a weird request from a coach. But I think if any other coach asks the same question it’s a non story. But because Babcock has a history of manipulation and mind games his motivation behind this is questioned. Don’t think it’s as Egregious as people are making it to seem tbh.
Well said. Good post.

You've been arguing with people in this thread for quite a while. Why don't you let some of them remote access your computer so they can get to know you better and help sort this out?
Actually I've been voicing my opinion, and people want to keep replying to me to argue because they don't agree with my views, I'm not arguing everyone else is doing that.

You’re debating the voices in your head about imaginary details you think you know or don’t know and then compare them to endless hypothetical nonsense for no reason.

It’s wild.

“Your hypothetical boss, the photos in your wallet and how that relates to how forcefully Babcock snatched phones out of players’ hands…”

What is this
A hit to the ego. Yes, your world-view is skewed. Take the opportunity and learn from it and grow as person.

Yeah, because society is improving and people are more comfortable bringing up inappropriate behavior from supervisors.

Putting up with workplace abuse doesn't make you tough. It takes way more courage to speak up and tell someone.

In this case, I guess someone told Spittin Chiclets of all people. But good thing they did.
This post is 'toxic' and its making me feel uncomfortable. Pls remove.

This is very strange, and not in the way people are saying. Babcock I don't doubt wanted to get to know his players. In this social media age we have lost a lot of togetherness with each other and I highly doubt Babcock is a big social media type of guy so he was trying to connect in the only way he thought possible. This sort of reminds me of Al Arbour. He knew the names of his players' wives, he knew their kids, etc. He had a great interest in the lives of his players. Since when did this become wrong? I know that when I coach I always make sure I know the names of the child's parents. Maybe not on the first day do I remember this, but as the season goes on I get to know all of their names. People feel more comfortable with you if you know their name. It means you took time to do this. If the kids have siblings I become familiar with them too. This used to just be common courtesy and nothing more. Leave it to Biz and the NHLPA for making it a big issue. Didn't the veterans on Columbus actually defend Babcock?

Is Babcock not their boss? Also you seem to be arguing that Babs has more control over these ppl than a regular boss (ie almost like a superboss), if so an invasion of privacy would be worse than it would be with a regular boss.

Wtf are you even arguing right now
