You can interpret Seravelli's tweet in multiple ways. Until the NHLPA has made an official statement about why, nobody knows what has happened and what the investigation turned or not turned up.

And until then I wait to pass judgement.

Ok.
"Nobody knows", yeah that's it exactly, especially Babcock who resigned from the post and wasn't reportedly fired.

"Wake up sheeple!"

I love the softening of people's thoughts on Torts now. I see the same thing when people paint a politician as evil but then later say well he wasn't evil, but this new guy sure is.

So many people, myself included, did not think that Torts had the temperament to be a NHL HC. I was wrong, he did a great job.

I do not claim to know what happened with Babs, but if he was guilty, then Jarmo should be fired. If he was innocent, but just him being there is enough of a distraction for him to resign without ever coaching a game, then Jarmo should be fired.

Incredible.

What's the supposedly nefarious plan by Babcock here? He was using that excuse to dig up dirt on players he barely knew? Does anybody actually believe that?

I get that a lot of people hated Babcock's guts for a lot of good reasons, but if this is somehow the new standard for coaches there are going to be lots of firings in the future.

What new standard? I think "not looking through your players' phones" is an old standard. No coach does that.

Mike Babcock playing 4 d chess “they can’t fire me for poor team performance without actually coaching a game”

Violating an individuals trust and privacy isn't a new standard.

OK Mr. "Babock should sue Biz/Commodore for insinuating that he's a pedophile."

That's good. Do you're own research. The truth is out there.

Why on earth would you think he has a plan? Have you seen him coach?

The man talks about himself in the third person publicly, all he cares about is looking like the smartest guy in the room by dispensing invaluable Saskatchewan Science. If he has to cross lines to do that he’s going to. Mike Babcock is here to promote Mike Babcock, winning or treating people with a modicum of respect is secondary to that.

Pretty easy for other coaches to avoid this scenario by focusing on winning instead of focusing on being a genius puppet master.

Stop it. They were never comparable, not today, not 5 years ago. Babs is gone. Because of an investigation, not because of this firestorm.

I mean it is pretty simple. Phones have a lot of personal info. If you take someones phone and start scrolling through it that is not cool. You think these players share everything with each other. Also you think Babcock is going to keep any secrets. Why do you even need to look in the first place, if not to pry and ask personal questions.

I had a hard time believing Babcock was this stupid...but I guess he is. Dude was gifted with a second chance at coaching in the NHL after being a pariah for years, and he couldn't even make it to the preseason without blowing it by being a manipulative weirdo. Happy trails, I guess.

If he ends up getting paid for those 2 years, he might be a genius

Listen to ex-players talk about Tortorella... then listen to ex-players talk about Babcock. What you will hear is night and day. Torts is tough, not the coach for everyone and can be emotional, but theres no denying that he cares about his players in every way.

You speak as if the NHLPA is going to give you some clear openly clear statement, they may never make a direct statement out. Why would they need to, if the situation is resolving with Babcock resigning?

But there's other reporters talking about what they have sources saying about it. Like Emily Kaplan.
