I don't think BA over valued Chych at all. Not taking money back was the reason he got bent over. If that was BA's thinking or ownership who knows, but it was a great deal for Ottawa and Chych. Let's not forget, this was going on for a year, a this is the best he could do. Ottawa didn't even lose a roster player.
BA didn't know going into the trade that he wasn't going to or couldn't take money back? How exactly would BA not know that? He had to know, and even with that knowledge, he was saying 2 firsts and a prospect, he was not close on what he got back. Like I have been saying, something is wrong with his evaluation versus expected returns, we got way less. I saw it clearly ahead of time.

I am open to being completely wrong on this but my reading over the year seems to point to Bill getting his cheque book taken away fairly recently. My guess, and it's only a guess, is all the bluff about revenue not going down this season are complete BS and combined with Bally Bankruptcy are leaving an even bigger hole for Ownership. And everyone has a breaking point.

Parade?
Do you damn Canadians have participation parades?

BA knew long before he couldn't take money back, that I can almost guarantee you. You don't think BA and AM and the rest of the front office didn't have a budget set out in front of them? On top of that the other GM's found out pretty fast what was happening. We never even got a prospect back for god sake. They didn't want to spend money on a contract. Ottawa had the cap room and capitalized big time.

Bill was given a budget to work with at the beginning of the season.

The Bally’s thing isn’t affecting the NHL like it is MLB. Because 3/4 of the season is already over.

Something happened. BA looked pretty beat up in the presser talking about Chych. I agree about the revenue as well. I have not been to the arena but is there any corporate sponsorship? By not getting prospects back also prolongs the rebuild. BA is bragging saying no one is NHL history has as many picks as the Coyotes. I would think there is a reason for that. Also, with the vote coming up, what is the perception of the team in the greater Phoenix area? People want to be associated with a winner organization not a loser organization. You don't think the NO vote will not bring this up. Things just got a lot more dicey for the Coyote's. I'm open to be completely wrong like you, but man, taking all these LTIR contracts back so they can hit the cap floor is down right scary. The silver lining is we will see many young kids in the line up, and of course we have Kassian to protect them.

When Cooley signs they get some positive momentum. Cooley also being named the leagues top prospect by THN is something they should be promoting. Hell buy 10,000 copies of the magazine and hand it out.

True story but my love for the draft comes from being on a family vacation and i bought a hockey news draft preview for something to read. It was the Eric Lindros draft and i read that sucker front to back and then watched the draft and wanted to understand why the guy they had rated in the 20’s who was “the next Thomas Steen” right after the Jets pick (Aaron Ward).

Hopefully, but it's the on ice product people want. This isn't Canada where all you do in the winter is watch and play hockey and curl. Like I said, the silver lining is that we won't have the dumpster pickups like last year because of the kids and we have no money. People laugh when I ask them if they have ever curled. I'll tell ya, that is one hard sport and a lot of fun to play. Of course you need a bottle of hotch to keep warm, and after a few, throwing that damn rock is like SNL on ice.

I will say to date this season that the actual nhl team has been fun to watch. Better than expected but also why we are concerned that we won’t end up in top 4-5.

Cda is a big place. Lots of crap to do here. I just like to watch hockey.

I lived in Canada. In winter it's hockey and curling for outside sports. Unless you consider shoveling snow as part of "lots of crap to do here".

Hiking , skiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, etc. depends where u live and how much you want to travel. I miss going to Whistler for weekends for example.

It ain't Mexico either. Maybe it's part of California?? I like Edmonton. Much nicer arena than I saw in Calgary. Jumbo sized. Maybe an arena and a half. Intimate in a Canadian "keep your distance" sort of way.

Kassian gives the appearance that he’s too damn lazy to throw a punch.

Adams said in his press conference he offered you guys more than what Ottawa put up. Sounds like Army had a bunch of teams in a big bidding war and played hand too strong and some of the main suitors dropped out as an F-U to him so he turned and sent him to Ottawa for what you saw.

Mind your tongue, Mr Bill is above questioning here.
