Provorov, Gavrikov, Chychrun, Pettersson. All UFAs this summer. I think signing one of those would make a lot of sense for Detroit. That would be an excellent top 4 going forward. Also Cossa takes over at net. Then just need to fix the offense, heh.

I like the idea of the first 3, but I don’t like the idea of adding an expensive LHD when ASP could be looking at his own expensive contract in a few years. Provorov and Gavrikov probably get close to $6M on the open market, Chychrun at his age and with his production gets $7.5M+.

I’m surprised Petterson doesn’t get more traction on this board. He won’t cost a ton, he’s big, he’s 28, had a defensive WAR last year of 80% on a full season, and is ASP’s countryman. He’s basically what Steve has tried to do with Chiarot/Petry/Maata/Holl, except Petterson isn’t chaotic evil.

Maatta keeps catching strays, Petterson is a Swedish Maatta. Which contrary to many is a very good defenserman to have on your roster.
I like Petterson, he'd be the perfect complete to how our top 4 is shaping out to be.

A solid two young pro. Can play the more reserved role letting ASP go out and do his thing.

He might be too expensive. He's already make 4 mill and he's going to get a pay rise.

I wouldnt be surprised if we go for Ian Cole as a cheap shot blocking pk specialist with stanley cup winning experience.

I would hope that this team finally stops shopping at the Bargain Bin o' Crap in free agency and pays good money for one or more good players.

Ekblad would be cooked on our team. Guy can’t skate. He’d look awful with us unless he was bottom pair and we aren’t taking on 7.5 mill to play a guy bottom pair. I assume we go after cam Fowler but this season he’s looking cooked too so.

It lingers Sandin Pellikka's first or second season until he has been big star. Sandin Pellikka is a top talent.

assuming that he is top talent we still need to wait for 3-4 years. if he is a bust it is irrelevant. So by the year 2028-29 we'll be in the mix. Probably, if things go well.

Ed is a beast but he's not shown to have the same kind of dangerous shooting, passing and short area skating that ASP has. I was excited by Mo because of how out of nowhere the pick was and how complete of a game he plays. Ray and Ed were high picks and guys I was really excited for, but Mo just had an "it" factor about him that really caught my eye during his post draft years. ASP to me was the perfect guy to get after giving up Hronek, because he gives you so much more potential skill and IQ in the offensive zone that losing a top 4 RD (a rare asset) in his prime immediately sold me. He's only gotten better at playing in all phases and situations too and he's still only 19.

You will be surprised how good Edvinsson will become. He is good at passing and it's easy to improve his shooting. Ed is the most fun player to watch since Datsyuk. Guy will improve big time , just give him some time

THIS. In 2 years, Ed will be the #1 D man.

I believe he scored a hat trick today.

You, sir, are correct.
