Feels like his concerns can be summed up as: why does ASP not play NHL level defense/why does ASP not already have NHL level speed? His tone in the first half of the video makes all that stuff sound like a choice ASP is making, rather than a deficiency he's actively working on. I'd prefer he phrase it more like, "oh, he's still got to work on that, but I see the foundation."

Then he puts all that time into critiquing those two aspects, but then he kinda... gets bored and realizes he doesn't want to maintain that level of incredibly fine grain detail because the video would be super long, so his praise is very sweeping and general from that point on. Like, oh yeah, he's just a very good offensive player."

ASP is just playing down to his level and opponent, ain't no thing when he comes over here, he'll dominate

I am no selling the guy as the end all of beginning all but I appreciated a focus on ASP for the group to see/review/comment. Gap control, bodying up, tendencies, shot selection and frequency, etc are all good things to judge his development.

Yeah, just not personally a fan of the guy. I watched him try to find holes in Owen Power's game for a year that did not exist. I watched him use a random shift to try to quantify Rossi's skating. I think he does some goofy stuff and I don't agree with him too often. But to each their own. I think he does put a lot of time into it and I can understand others enjoying his content.

As far as ASP's skating I would call it good. I think it is definitely good enough at his size and I am not worried about it.

Well, he's basing his opinions on one game, so super small sample size. If he analyzed the last 2 Wings games with the same criteria, he'd be convinced the Wings don't have any NHL capable defenseman after Ed got hurt....

This video tells me ASP will need at least one season in GR to adjust to NA ice and physicality, but we already knew that's gonna happen anyways.

Luke Witkowski just signed with Skellefteå... they are losing their minds there.

He was already useless in Finland at last season.

Could Witkowski teach ASP some physicality stuff?

I wasn't saying ASP needs to fight, he needs to deal with forecheckers that will actually hit. He'll need to learn how to avoid checks and not get injured. Mike Green was a Norris runner-up, but he couldn't avoid a check to save his life, wound up injured often, and he had lost his slapper by the time he joined the Wings.
