Seider is not as dynamic with the puck as Edvinsson. It will be interesting to see if their roles will change with a new coach, but Seider has regressed this year regarding his offensive play. Edvinsson's stick handling and ability to carry the puck has surpassed Seider this year.
I don't disagree per say, but I do think Lalonde was coaching the creativity out of Seider. My hopes are that we are going to see more growth there with Mcllelan

I've criticised Lalonde a lot, but I think he didn't take any creativity from Seider, I believe Yzerman and Lalonde wanted Seider to learn to play the game the right way, so it was more focus on defence.
Edvidson on the other hand is kid go out there and have fun. But this will change. Edvidson will have to focus on his defence very soon.

However, this topic is about ASP and I believe the kid has 7 points in 3 games.

I think both are dynamic but in different ways. Seider likes to skate with the puck, jump into odd man rushes, and is fantastic at keeping pucks in at the blueline. His passing is good but I wouldn't call it elite. Ed has the best outlet pass this team has seen since Lids retired. Look no further than the breakout to Kasper for the breakaway last night. He is great about finding seams both for passes and getting shots on net. He will jump into the play and rush up ice but I feel like he excels even more when it comes to fading down lone once the zone is established.

If Seider can ever get a true stay at home partner I think his offensive game will pop off a bit more, because it will allow him to rush/carry the puck. Eds offensive game will allow for more secondary points 5 on 5 and I think he'll eventually end up on the PP as well.

I wouldn't mind trying the two together on one unit because I feel like Ed plays more like a typical PPQB and Seider more like a rover. Right now Seider is in that QB role, but I don't think it necessarily suites him.

Yikes ! In no way shape or form does Ed have the best outlet pass on the team. If anything, his passing is one of the weakest parts of his game. Seider is an exponentially better passer of the puck than Ed.

Please blink twice if you require assistance.

I think this has already been commented on, but based on HF boards and the twitter ... Canuck fans are really really obsessed with ASP and trying to convince the world that he's overrated.

I know there's stuff there because it was their pick and because they drafted another Swedish D before him, but it's really weird stuff.

What his dad say?
A bunch of anecdotes about young ASP and such:

“We tried to slow him down. ‘You can’t go.’ But he banged his stick into the door, so there were holes from the inside,” Janne said. “But what should I, as a parent, do? He was crying. He hit the door. Let’s go to the ice barn, of course, all the time. I can’t afford new doors.”

Ed and Seider are both unicorns. Ed is Hedman 2.0 if he keeps progressing and Seider is Pronger 2.0 if he keeps progressing.

If McLellan can coax the next step out of both of these guys we will have the best defensive pairing in the NHL for many years. ASP on top of that and we have the best defensive core in the NHL. This is all hypothetical but our D is the least of our problems moving forward.

We now need dynamic offensive players.

Where did you disappear?
This drama where a heartbroken Ari searches for Henkka is reaching it's climax. Will Henkka accept Ari's feelings? Will the mods and time zones keep them apart? Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z.

Like what? :D

I've never disappeared anywhere. Or maybe I've found my the love of my life, and don't have that much time to be in here. ;)

I haven't seen you posting much lately.
When you provide the stats you save me some time. I posted very little myself, but the coach change has made this team exciting again.

Btw, where can I watch this tournament games?

Anyone else read the new Athletic article about ASP? For one, I absolutely love this kid's mindset. He's resilient, motivated, adaptable and committed to learning. That's perfect.

More importantly, his dad is hilarious.

Yes. Very interesting bit about how he made asp more coachable by writing three things down after games.
