avs completely outclassed us...again. can't believe i'm saying this but georgiev kept us in this game.

we've improved under gallant, but structurally, we still have the exact same issues. 5 on 5 we are impotent in terms of generating offensive chances. a team like col exposes just how poor we are at it.

when they move the puck up ice, they move with coordination and pace, and when they cross the blue line they're extremely efficient at creating spacing and moving the puck within that to create a quality chance in the slot or down low...there's no stupid passes from behind the net that have no hope of working, they dont skate themselves into the wall and then fire it around to no one. mikas line is absolutely useless at the moment, his line doesn't create any semblance of threat. the panarin line gets pucks in the zone but games like this they live on the perimeter. the laf line is always up and down, chytil is currently a complete anchor - he was a disaster tonight. the 4th line is the 4th line, not their best but typically they do whats expected. bottom line is our centers are nowhere near good enough. i'm losing hope in chytil, but at least he has a chance to develop. mika and strome are what they are, and committing to both long term puts a ceiling on this team.

I'm not even going to count that. He was a rookie with a 4 month layoff. Give me a real playoff season and I bet he excels.

You watch Makar in his rookie season in the playoffs?
It's actually OK to not always have the best player, ya know lol

Who gives a shit about Makar? He’s a great player and he plays on a good team.

Fox is also a great player on a team that sucked the last two seasons and this season is still trying to find their way.

They’re two great players, who gives a shit about Makar when we’re talking about the Rangers?

It's not just this game it's every game with some people, not you. I just don't know what people are expecting. This board has always had it's share of whining and moronic hot takes but this year is the worst it has ever been and yet we have a good record all things considered.

Well I put a couple of people on ignore that bitch about the team when they aren't playing great and are nowhere to be found when they win. I try (and often fail) to at least balance out my negativity with positive posts when they win. Some people it feels like are rooting against the team.

Makar is very good and may well win the Norris but saying Fox was a non factor in a 3 game covid playin bubble series as a rookie tells me nothing. I want to see him in a real playoff series and something tells me he would be excellent.

The ignore feature has gotten a workout this year.

There was comparison talk so just figured I'd point out the obvious since you didn't pick up on it

God forbid you say something nice here about the opposing team or its players. COL is a very good team. They play big, win battles, and move the puck very well. I don't know where it was said they give up a lot of goals,... because they played great D against us. They made it very difficult for us to move the puck up ice. They play a very sound defensive game. And if they remain healthy, they are a playoff contender for sure. They played without their captain last night and didn't miss a beat.

It's no shame losing to a team of their caliber. We hung in there and gave it our best shot. Getting Shesty back, might make all the difference. Against a team like the AVS you can ill afford not having your secret weapon.

The less and less this team can play their third line the more and more they look like the David Quinn team from the past two seasons. They gotta find a way to fix it because if you think Panarin/Mika/Strome are all of the sudden going to rewrite history and be able to carry this team offensively late into the season and maybe the playoffs then we deserve the ass kicking we're going to get. Having our top three lines be mediocre/bad defensively is not going to work long term.

Serious question...does anyone else misplace their Apple Tv remote as much as I do?
If you have an iPhone, you can use the iPhone as an AppleTV remote. Comes in handy when you can't find the remote, or if you're in a dark room.

Exactly. Winning against the Avs when they are on a hot streak isn't an easy feat. Especially not when the refs also tilt the ice. Them getting the last change for favourable matchups is of course a big part of them shutting us down.

There's no patience with the team finding their way to play under Gallant, nor Zibanejad finding his game after he lost best buddy Buchnevich. I would (like some others also want) to see Panarin and Zibanejad on the same line for a while. Both need to get going more 5 on 5, but especially Mika. Kreider isn't exactly a passing wizard and Mika and Kakko can't find good chemistry.

Carolina are slumping more than us (5-5 in their last 10), NYR is still 7-3 in the last 10. I can't see how the sky is falling like it sounds like in here.

So far tonight I have seen Fox sucks, Panarin sucks, Strome sucks, trade Laf or send him down, trade Mika, trade Lindgren, fire Chytil into the sun, Kakko is a bust, Gallant can't coach. They have lost 3 of 4 to really hot teams and the rats are starting to jump off the ship already. Wow. The Flames have lost 4 in a row, Oilers have lost 6 in a row, Florida got beat 8-2 by Ottawa. Shit happens in an 82 game season.

Guys have off nights. I'm not super concerned about it. Getting the star goalie back will help. There are weaknesses that could be addressed, but the Avs are a really good team.

Good call. I hate the iPhone remote but it would be a life-saver if the regular one is lost.

I go to sleep and wake up to see Britney Spears trending on Twitter. Once again the Big Tech is trying to distract people from the real issues and censor the truth that Gallant needs to break up 20-93 and reunite the sandwich line.

I really am disappointed Chytil has not progressed like most of us thought he would.

I said way back, you either have hands or you don't. Chytil never had the hands for a NHL top 6 role.

If he can change his own expectations, develop a stronger two-way game, he may end up a force on the third line.

Then again I'd even question his hockey IQ to do so. Recently he looks more like a 4th liner?

It's not that hard to figure out. The Avs have more experienced high end talent players. The Rangers can't rely on Panarin and Fox to generate all of the offense. As much as I love Panarin, he is a perimeter player and can get nullified by a big, fast team like the Avs.
Bottom line is that the kids have not progressed as quickly as hoped, Mika has been a non-factor and we have at least two guys on the backend who struggle to defend. This isn't a recipe for success against the best teams in the NHL.

Disappointing night.

Really disappointing performance from Panarin. Forcing dumb shit all night.

Can’t lose PP differential 6-2 to that team.

Weird that they finally shoot the puck and go to the net and score a goal. Love Gallant sending Goodrow, Gauthier, Hunt out there with an empty net and an o zone faceoff. Can hope there’s a lesson in there for this group on this, but it’s the big guns who need to learn it.
Has to be a lesson. They were arguably our best players last night. More jump and effort than our supposed best players.
You can't take away their paychecks oh, but you can take away their ice time.

This is REALLY getting old.
Yes I'm tired of it as well. Maybe some people here figure by continuing to mention his name, with the thinking that magically Gallant is going to see the fans clamoring for him, that they will be forced into making a move. Haha keep begging.
