Doesnt he have a choice to remove it now? If he knows hes going to be a fighter he should play without it.

Its more of a safety issue for these dudes to remove their helmet so their head doesnt hit the ice (which is prob why Reaves waved him off), but the visor is basically a half blocker for a punch.

To me, any fight MCdermind (or anyone wearing a visor) engages in he starts -3.

I counted 2 or 3 punches Reaves landed on the visor, McDermind had his head tilted down, almost using it as a full shield. Unless he takes an uppercut to the jaw the visor is blocking all jabs and punches. Any one of those, if landed could have put McDermind on his heels and Reaves couldve won that fight. Its a distinct advantage.

Trouba removed some tape or something from his hand the last fight he had with Landeskog. Would be cool if they had an easy way to detach a visor on the fly before a fight

Hockey Fights - Hockey Fights
Players don't have a choice to play without visors anymore unless grandfathered in before the rule was implemented. Visors are mandatory like helmets now.

Our window right now is non existent.

If Lafreniere will never be as good as Panarin that just means we need more top picks and the rebuild failed our forward core.
If you're expecting anyone you draft (even at #1) to be the next Panarin then you have unrealistic expectations. Those types of players come around once every 5 years at most. He's a hockey savant and one of the most elite wingers on the planet right now.
