It's funny people talking about playoffs when this post is clearly about back to back hattricks in the regular season.

It's easy not to talk about playoffs. Just avoid phrases like "dominates in the playoffs"

Nothing will take his regular season accomplishments away, so why start making things up to make a fool of yourself

To put this season in perspective of how outrageous it is:

Matthews with 49 goals has more goals than the following:

Oilers Duo - Connor Mcdavid (21) + Leon Draisaitl (27) = 48
Penguins Duo - Sidney Crosby (31) + Evgeni Malkin (16) = 47
Ottawa Trio - Tim Stutzle (13) + Josh Norris (13) + Claude Giroux (18) = 45
Vegas Quadruple - Jack Eichel + Mark Stone + Chandler Stephenson + Alex Pietrangelo = 47
5 of 6 Fs of SJ Top 6 - Tomas Hertl (15) + Michael Granlund (6) + Anthony Duclair (11) + Mike Hoffman (8) + William Eklund (8) = 48

Leafs need to win with this guy he's ridiculous. You have the best goal scorer in the game.
The Leafs are top heavy. You can’t win with just a couple of players eating all your cap. Matthews and the other top players on the Leafs comes at a price.

This generation’s premier pure goal scorer, like OV was for the last generation. He broke the 60 goal drought in the NHL a couple seasons ago so it would be pretty sweet to see him be the guy to break the 70 goal drought for the league.

If only hockey was like basketball where if you have three of the top superstars you have a dynasty on your hands; Toronto vs Edmonton would have been out Warriors vs Cavs.
