Players like Bolland, Seguin, and Marchand may be cocky, brash and pests, but then again they are millionaire athletes in their prime who have played major roles on the their teams winning the Cup, and I bet they are more respected than the Sedins as teammates.

You shouldn't mistaken the Sedins' lack of personality for being classy or humble.

Do you know anything about the Sedins?

We don't mistake their "lack of personality" for being classy or humble. We judge them for the countless things they've done to help others in their communities. We judge them for donating over a $1mill each to charity and asking their charity to keep it quiet so no one knows that they're giving money to charity. We judge them for the countless comments we get from their teammates, their opponents, their coaches, their opposing coaches, and GMs around the league, all saying they are classy and humble.

Even ask Bolland what he thinks of the Sedins, despite his trash talk, and he'll tell you that they are classy.

It's a joke that some fans are so clueless that they'll jump on some trash talking by players that are vastly advertised as being immature and stupid, and take that as proof of what the rest of the league thinks of them. Just google them and you'll see the contributions they make off the ice to show why they are considered classy and humble.

Suggesting otherwise is just plain ignorant. But keep trashing them... you'll fit right into the 1% of the league that show their immaturity and stupidity by thinking otherwise. The rest of the league know just how classy, humble and intelligent both these guys are.

The targets, if history is any indication, are most likely not offended or upset by this.
The targets are probably surprised to hear 2 grown men using those jokes, but then again, knowing who is Seguin, it might not come as a shock.

It's obvious what their meaning is, don't know why you try to hide it to yourself.

Now go ask your 2 best twin buddies, you might be surprised by their answer.

Hey, what do you know! Their answer differed from what you believe to be the unanimous truth. Funny how that works. Not everything is how you believe it to always be. Perhaps not everything is obvious as you think it to be. Perhaps this is where I say I don't know why you try to hide this to yourself.

It seems like the only people offended here are Canucks fans  Why people care so much about the feelings of players they don't even know is beyond me. I'm sure they've heard much worse on the ice.

I wonder what people would've said about Brian Trottier if that video of him heckling Brian Bellows came out today

Someone should write a dissertation on the problems with sports culture and use this thread as reference [1]. I'm convinced at least a 1/4 of the people in here are sociopaths.

I just feel bad for the Sedins, two classless professional (don't know if I can use that actually) hockey players make complete asshats of themselves on a radio station and now the twins are gonna get asked about it, just a waste of their valuable time really.

Well, you're friend with the exception. Or they're part of your bullying group. I don't know. Or you're just lying cause your 2 favorite players look like total jerks.

Yeah, I'll go with that last one.

When you are a ****** like Evander Kane, you can't really expect people to be nice to you back,

But in this case they are making fun of Sedins who are well respected, so I think Canucks players already have the day circle in the calendar if they play each other again

I'm not saying it isn't a bit weird for them to be saying this, but they obviously aren't fully mature. Not too many 25 year olds and 60 year olds share the same sense of humour.

This "grown men maturity" thing is ridiculously false, your sense of humour doesn't suddenly change once you hit 18 or 19 or 21 or whatever age people seem to think it occurs at.

Score 100 pts and you'll get the MVP. Get dummied by Marchand and mocked by Bolland, Seguin, and Benn, and you know there are a lot more players who think like they do.

From the way they entered the league to the way they've played the game, they deserve it.

This might be the silliest comment I've ever read on HF.

I guess playing the game like a gentleman is now grounds for being trashed in public. The funny part is if Gretzky existed in this era he'd be thought of as the same, but he played in the instigator rule days.

The radio interview was pretty tame, I just think it comes off typically high schoolish and is not surprising. They act the same way the kids in high school acted.

This shows a lack of professionalism on the part of Benn and Seguin. There's no reason to go there. I guess we won't be seeing Benn return home to the Canucks as long as the Sedins play in Vancouver.

I think the league should punish them by making them waste 10 hours of their lives taking a sensitivity traing course with NHL Diversity Advisor Moonbeam McNeal, and require that they write a Feelings Blog that they share on NHL.com ... I think that would be suitable punishment.

TBH this sounds like a good solution for everyone involved.

Based on Seguin's track record, it's hard to give him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to homophobia

I never made any assumptions myself as to whether or not what they said was homophobic, I suggested it could be easily inferred from what they said though. As it has been. But obviously you're less interested in reading my posts than you are in using them as a launching pad for your bizarre tirades.

Is that your idea of a tirade, or are we scooting over to hyperbole? As a Hab fan i'd think you'd be sick of it by now.

We're talking about a radio interview. Not a game, not a game, not a game. A radio interview. There is absolutely no reason for them to take random shots at the Sedins in this situation.

Also, it is not just some Canucks fans defending them, but keep making things up if it makes you feel better.

Right. And some people are more offended by these words than others. As humans, we are not built the same. Surely you know this.

I question your sense of humour if this actually made you laugh. Offensive or not, this isn't even the slighest bit funny.

While this may be overblown, I'd say that mostly stems from some of the outrageous defenses of Benn+Seguin here. If you think they're not implying an incestuous relationship, you should probably just step away from your computer and think for a while about what is being said here. Maybe you're too young to understand.

They're implying an incestual relationship OUT OF HUMOR. Too young to understand? God, this ****? Is there no limitation on how condescending people are allowed to be? What does understanding this have to do with youth. Step off your high horse Napoleon.

I laugh at a lot of things. If I hung out with you, you could probably make me laugh. People are ridiculous in this thread. It's as if, over a virtual forum, certain individuals are actually convinced they can know everything about one's personal and political views. Maybe you're too...(insert slightly insulting word)...to understand.

There is a time and place for trash talk, during a radio broadcast is not it. Besides, this wasn't even trash talk, it was an immature joke.

I agree trash talk is trash talk. Did Brian Trottier trash talk on radio, or was it on ice?

Was he original? or was he too dumb to think of something on his own and recycled what was said years before?

This isn't about the Sedins.... they've taken such talk before and they'll hear it again... I'm sure they hear stuff on the ice all the time - of course they aren't childish enough to make that public after a game, and especially on a radio talk show. But if they did, I'm sure they would have enough intelligence to come up with something new on their own, instead of repeating what was said before and thinking that's funny.

This is about Seguin and Benn, and you'd think that if they were joking and looking to trash talk, they'd a) do it on the ice, and b) come up with something new. Of course asking immature, stupid kids to think like adults isn't always fair to the immature, stupid kids.

Yeah you're right.

Benn and Seguin are regular gentlemen here. I think someone should try to pencil them in to teach an etiquette class in the offseason.

These kinds of comments happen all the time. I have friends who are twins and we banter about with these kinds of things.

I agree that it shouldn't have been said but I don't see why it's such a big deal.

Yeah, I'll go with that last one.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

An exception to your friends? Got it. I'll go ahead and base everything off of what you see in your life. If things don't match up I'll yield to you.

And if you think I'm a bully for not seeing things exactly like you do then I pity you.

Finally, this has nothing to do with the players on my team. My 2 favorite players? Not even close bud. Sure, they're great, but I like how you try to throw that in the discussion. I'm more of a Klingberg/Ritchie guy myself.

Its funny how Seguin keeps repeating how much he's matured since getting traded and then he does stuff like this. I also didn't realize how much a ******-nozzle Benn sounds like, you would never hear the classy captains of other teams, like Bergeron, Kopitar, Crosby, Toews, Ovi, etc making comments like that on two of the top players in the league.

Seguin didn't say a word
