Montreal Maroons select Lionel Hitchman and Red Horner.

I considered taking Hitchman with my last pick. I have Pam Coburn's book about him so I could have added some new quotes to his bio.

Not the kind of player to carry a team, but he was a very valuable contributor to some very good teams. It's telling that he got the most Hart votes of anyone on the record-breaking 1929-30 Bruins team.

Yeah, I just finished Coburn’s book on Hitchman the other week. Decent read, and Hitchman is certainly a welcome addition to any team here.

What do we make of Hitchman basically getting no All-Star votes on the GM teams before 1929-30?

I looked at him with my last pick, but that turned me away. I would have considered him if he fell though

Hitchman was my second choice when I took Herb Gardiner.

CTP has arrived!!
The dark side of "work-from-home;" though I knew this day was coming. [And I told all my 'teammates' that this was coming.] In a more placid time, this day would have been a bad-weather day- no-one does work- everyone gets paid. In this paradigm, though, we're instead told "everyone pull out your workplace-issued laptops and get busy."

Surprised I didn't hear about any 'power outages' or 'internet outages,' real or imagined.

Trying to work out whether my Suchý selection is a Victor von Doom Evil Genius move, or whether it's more like Wile E. Coyote.

At any rate, Suchý figures to benefit from a sturdy partner to help hold down the back-end.

For that reason, the Phantoms select robust Hard-Man Alexander Ragulin (a.k.a.: The Fortress).

I'm STILL at work. Good chance I'm not leaving given the snow is still falling and will be so through the night. Wouldn't get up my driveway, which surely has a foot on it now anyway. Should have just stayed home but I'm going to get paid, so yeah, there's that at least.

Hope you had a nice getaway over the weekend though!

BenchBrawl picks a big bodied playmaking winger in Blake Wheeler, RW

Thank you for making my pick. Despite the jump I kept looking and looking at what was left at RW, and Wheeler brings a unique skillset as a 6 ft 5 playmaking RWer with a VsX score of over 80. Power forward-lite and defensively responsible. I think he deserved to go in that range.
