I’ll take Espo’s teammate but more relevantly, Coffey’s coach, Glen Sather

I guess people have @GlitchMarner’s list right

I'll pick the Coyotes coach for this season and select Anatoli Tarasov, Coach

With Tarasov's emphasis on skating and skating and passing I feel I've provided him the right personnel to match his philosophy.

From @Dreakmur 's awesome 2013 bio

To me, a top class hockey player should be an all-round physically developed athlete with speed and strength plus. Such a player has an explosive starting reaction and a will that is as strong as iron. His bag of technical tricks should be big and varied, enabling him to perform his role in the line-up and make lightning decisions in tactics at any and every moment of the game. And all these qualities in modern hockey are absolutely out of the question if the sportsman lacks a high culture of the game: I have in mind tactical intuition, precision work with his partners, perfect orientation, a feeling of the game, the ability to see, understand, and even anticipate the actions of the closest and furthermost opponents and partners. And what is most important, all these qualities must be retained and put into use in the toughest moments of the game, when the pitch of a game is at its highest, when the emotions of players are as taut as bow strings.

Barber was picked largely because of chemistry with Clarke. Had he not been available I would have went with Getzlaf or undrafted.

Completely torn between two guys here and not really sure what/if any difference there is between them. I'll take the physical forward for my second line.

Welcome to Portland, Punch Broadbent (RW)!

I'll take the great Soviet centre, Igor Larionov, C.

The #1 centre and part of the dominant Green Unit for the great Soviet Union team of the 80s, Larionov went on to have a successful NHL career in his 30s and 40s, including 3 Stanley Cups with the Detroit Red Wings.

I know that rankings at this point are subjective, and with this being a draft many times we are selecting based on positional needs and not BPA. But with that being said, you’d be pretty hard pressed to find 271 players in hockey history that are better than The Professor. Great pick.

Probably an ideal 3rd line C here, but certainly a capable 2nd liner as well if needed.

I'm curious to know who the other guy is when it gets drafted. I like Punch here - pretty unique skillset

Thanks.

I just read a post you made a few drafts back stating that you didn't like the other guy in a top 6 role... so when he's taken I'll let you know and see if your opinion is the same.
