Lach has two factors that people look at and hold against him - Richard and war years.

Of course, it's just a matter of how much punishment should be dealt. Bentley himself has one big season in 1943 and his best season in 1946 could also be considered a war year since the players who went abroad had just returned and were out of practice.

How many players beat Kennedy on playoff resume? Only top offensive players I bet.

Lach himself was pretty good in the playoffs. Not better than Kennedy, but still pretty good. But, Lach has a vastly superior offensive resume in the regular season with two scoring titles and three 1st AST berths. Kennedy himself has 0 scoring titles, and 0 1st AST berths. Of course, there's also the Richard factor, and that Kennedy possessed more intangibles.

Don't think Max is superior, but Kennedy has health/consistency on his side, as well as a postseason record that is simply phenomenal.

I was referring to the final product of the HOH top-60 C list, which had Kennedy 21st, Bentley 24th and Lach 26th.

Actually, I just checked the VsX C list, and I didn't know that both Bentley and Lach were side by side.

That VsX list is part of what drove me towards Ullman. I was surprised to find him with a score at nearly 90.

I select Frank Brimsek, G

My division is filled with elite goalies, I knew I needed an above-average one too.Don't want the goalie confrontation to get too lopsided.

Besides, as a player Brimsek is good value right now.

Should partner well with Cleghorn.I don't think Laperrière was the BDA, but it is close.

This is absolutely absurd. I was chastised immensely for a very similarly built pairing with Cleghorn last year. What has changed since then?

I think you're mixing Laperrière with another defenseman.Laperrière was not a puck rushing defenseman as far as I know.He was controlling the play from the blueline with outstanding first passes and solid defensive play (again, this is from what I know, if I'm wrong on Laperrière then someone correct me).The defenseman you had with Cleghorn last year was a puck-rushing defenseman who was not even as good as Cleghorn at that skill.

Besides, will you ever get over it?

Yeah, Laperriere was a stay-at-home guy for sure.

My apologies. For some reason I thought Laperriere was the complete opposite of what he apparently actually was.

That's the exact thought process I have been going through. There are a few guys on my he board who would have been great as an anchor on the second pair, but Lapperiere was the guy I wanted to pair with Sprague.

Overall, the question was whether I felt good giving my mid 5th round pick for this particular player as a #2 defenseman, and I'm saying yes to that.

Yeah, Laperriere was a stay-at-home guy for sure.

But a ''controlling the pace from the back-end'' type of stay-at-home defenseman. Some stay-at-homes guys are very good in the defensive zone, but not that good at the transition.Laperrière seemed to be good at both with his calm and intelligent presence.

At the ATD level, he'll make a decent first pass. If you're hoping he'll control the pace of the game, you're gonna have a bad time.

Sure, but it's still better than if he didn't even have those qualities in his actual career.

The Miami Screaming Eagles select Marcel Pronovost, D

I am surprised to see that there is no bio for Pronovost; hopefully I find the time to rectify that.

Yes! Hope you're going to find the time. This is a good reason to choose a player if you're undecided between a couple of them.

I'll kick off the second unit at even strength with Ebenezer Goodfellow, D. The Mega-tough all-around great defenseman will likely play top unit special teams for us as well.
