At this rate, we're going to miss the playoffs...

Seemed fitting.

Blow it up!

It needs to be more like 12-3-8, The Kings can't afford very many more regulation losses on the road.

If the Kings get to 20 road regulation losses...That's not making playoff territory.

The big road trip at the end of March could be critical. The Kings have blown a lot of points this season, but when I look at the standings, I see them in 3rd in the Pacific Division. It's not going to be comfortable for them to get in unless they have a big home stand like they did earlier in the season where they won six in a row.

I wouldn't go that far just yet. We're in 3rd place still so we still have a good shot at making the playoffs. But the team really is playing with fire because so many teams are within a point of us. If it stays as close as it is right now we're potentially one loss away from being out of even a wildcard spot.

If the Kings post sub 500. hockey on this next Seven game home stand. They are in trouble. They have to continue winning at a ridiculous rate at home to make up for the awful road record.

Let's not act like Voynov was playing stellar hockey before he was arrested.

He was doing ok, at least his presence kept doughty from being overplayed. Lets just cross our fingers Doughboy doesn't get hurt, cuz if he does our playoff hopes will fade very quickly.

We've seen crappy regular season for 3 years now, and have 2 cups from it. I wonder how many more cups it would take for people not to freak out about regular season crap, even if it is so painful to watch at times.

I would agree if the production from top players was there.

The last three season's it has been. This season it's not. Kopitar's production so far is rather alarming.

Almost 40 games in and not one Kings player has broke 30 points.

Sounds like the first half of the 2011-2012 season. Maybe we should fire Sutter. :sarcasm:

I was thinking this as well looking ahead. This upcoming home stand will tell us exactly where this team is going or what the GM needs to do. This road trip is already a writeoff in my mind.

No but Voynov >>>> Shcultz, McBain, and everything else not named Martinez that has been trotted out behind Doughty/Muzzin. Schultz is our 9th dman used this year which isn't so bad depth-wise but with no Regehr either all that's left on the roster is Doughty/Muzzin, Martinez, then a bunch of #6s.

On the silver-lining side, at least everyone realizes Regehr's immediate value, heh. He's been great aside from being Tarasenko's doormat.

Edit: But again, we lost an entire 2nd pairing for nothing. Mitchell gone hurts the most, but now we have doughty/muzzin, Martinez-Regehr, Martinez-Greene, McBain, Schultz, and Voynov on possibly permanent LTIRish leave. that's a long way from reliable like last year.

Just awful watching this team in November/December/January. Every year with this core man.

Next year I should just not watch hockey at all during those months.

I was going to say, don't get your goes up about January. The Kings played .500 hockey in December and Jan last year. They don't turn it on until they have to play desperate, although desperate times are coming early this year with this bad of a road record.

Similarities to 2012-2013 where the team couldn't buy a win on the road either. Lockout shortened season kept the fan suffering to a minimum. This year we are getting the full monty of suck.

They have be playing like **** but they are in fact in a playoff spot, wait and see what the trade deadline brings. There are definitely been some games where they have turned it on, are they just bored?

Winger23 I have no problem with the sky is falling crowd. I am one who never gets to low on the team. Maybe because after being a fan so long they finally won the cup(twice). I am also a SF Giants fan so these last 4 years have been heaven. Being in my 50's my stress is my older daughter starting to drive, my younger daughter ballet performances, and my stock portfolio.

For us Kings fan we are pretty lucky. So I choose to root for the guys and hope they snap out of this funk. What also helps is I DVR games now so the fast forward button has been getting alot of use especially on road games.

It's time to float the Dustin Brown is about to be traded rumors again to get him motivated. The team looks old, slow, flat, bored but I have faith Lombardi will do the right thing. I don't think this is the team you will see in the first game of the playoffs, seems like some of these guys need to be threatened to get going and Lombardi knows how to do it apparently.

They need to find their game on the road, that goes without saying. But I learned my lesson last year when I basically wrote an obituary on the team when they were down 3-0 to the Sharks. Just going to see how the rest of the season plays out.

Sage advice :handclap:

How dare you?! That's now how it works! You have to crucify the team based on less than half of the games played!!! :sarcasm:

I know we just lost to the worst team in the league (by a far, far margin) but let's see how this board reacts after a 5-6 losing streak like this team typically goes through in Dec/Jan. lol
