I agree with the take that Othmann can push for a spot next season. He needs to show he can play the right side. There are only 4/6 top 9 wing spots currently locked for this team with Panarin, Kreider, Lafreniere, Kakko.

Imagine Othmann on the right side of the PP where Strome is now...

People who watch him, he obviously greatly exceeded expectations this year and lots of fans thought this was another McIlrath type pick. But does he still have that grit? I see lots of highlights of him scoring but not much of that grit, I hope he still brings that too

He does. He’s even dropped the mitts a few times this season.

At least one of Strome/Copp are not going to be back next year and there’s a chance of neither. If Copp returns he can be Artemi’s center. So there will be an opening for a scoring wing. That could be Kravtsov and it could be Othmann though likely they’ll be aiming at a 3rd line than a top 6 spot. Othmann has great hands and plays with edge. Not sure another year in the OHL is going to be much benefit for him either. I think another year at Providence College might benefit Berard though and then we’ll also have Cuylle going pro again.

He has a hat trick through two periods, including two in 17 seconds at the end of the second. 49 goals now. Can he get 50 in the final frame?

I'd bet on them ain't losing both. Both may not come back, but I doubt they'll lose both them.

What's the story between him and hockey Canada? Thought there was some sort of friction or am I confusing him with someone else?

The amount of people that exposed themselves this summer for simply reading Bob McKenzie’s rankings and not familiarizing themselves with the prospects themselves is laughable. How can so many people be this wrong? 50 goals in the O in his second season? That’s unreal. And he’s showing versatility too. LW, he can play RW, he’s gritty, talented, has a hell of a shot. Hell of a pick by Drury.
