Congrats on the WC! When my Norwegian girls did not pull through, it might as well be you guys :)

That was a seriously entertaining final.

Hey NYCFC fans, how do you see this team lining up when everyone is good to go?

A front six that looks like this?

Villa
Mix-Lampard-Ballouchy
Pirlo-Jacobson

No, they would not.

As a huge Juventus fan, Pirlo looks best in a 3 man midfield. I think the team has to use a midfield diamond. Pirlo at the base with two workhorses providing him space, and Lampard up top. Pirlo is his most effective when he has 2 CMs providing him time as space to dictate play. He struggles when man-marked effectively. I've only seen two do it extremely well & that would be Mandzukic & Park Ji Sung

NYCFC's problem is that they just don't have many good players. Even with Pirlo, they only have like five or six MLS level starters on their team.

Mix

Mix is all the way back because he's busy fishing the ball out of their own net. Dat defense...

nycfc signed athletic bilbaos right back.

Yeah, Iraola should be a good signing. Believe he will make his debut the same day as Lampard (July 12th).

Angelino could be good as well but that signing makes less sense to me - not sure where he fits into a healthy NYC lineup. I could understand if he was a signing for the future, but he's only on loan for a year. Guess it can't hurt either way.

I don't want Gareth Bale on United. They can use that 100m bid that was rejected today and sign 4 quality guys instead.

I really like Schweinsteiger and Darmian signings.

Now go and get:

Ramos (for DeGea)
Schneiderlin
Otamendi
Lloris
Cavani or Higuain or Muller or Benteke (obviously some are very unlikely on here)

They still need a striker. Depay can be your #3 striker and Wilson can be your #4 striker. You still need a #1 or 2 striker to go along with Rooney, so Bale makes sense but he is very pricey.

They also need help on the back-line. If that Ramos for De Gea swap happens, they need a goalie. A top striker and a top goalie/center-back depending on if that Ramos for De Gea swap happens are the only two areas that I think they should improve on before the end of the transfer window.

Depay is going to play as a wing. I think Schneiderlin happens in the next couple days. AS for striker, we should be looking for a young kid thats ready to make the jump to the premier league. Don't need a big name, top guy. Spend the money on Schneiderlin and Otamendi

Absolute horrid defense from NYCFC. I watched for years as a futile Metros/RedBulls fan and saw them stink up the joint and choke over and over and over only to give up and decided to become an NYCFC fan and have a fresh start with a team that is actually from NY. But the truth is this team is horrible on defense. I can get kids off an average street in Brazil or Argentina who would do a better job than these fools. I can't believe they can't find better than that. And then some of these primadonnas who are absolutely finished anyways don't want to take this ::beep:: seriously. I'm of course talking about guys like Lampard. Just don't come over and get the hell out. I feel bad for Villa who seems like the only guy on the team that can play. Oh speak of the devil, penalty on Villa.

They're a ****ing expansion team calm the hell down.

Listen this game is the anti-thesis of good defense, but it's entertaining as hell.

Fun game to watch. Giovinco and Villa being the X factors as usual... A question for NYCFC fans, is this grass synthetic or natural? It seemed like the pieces above the baseball landmarks were, but I'm not sure...

P.S.: That referee tho

Neither does Michael Bradley. Its part of trying to grow a league. You overpay for good players who should be playing at a high level.

Bradley already played on Europe (correct me if I'm wrong). I don't think he is able to return to Europe now. And Giovinco is younger... I see him quitting if a Man. United or a Barcelona offers a nice amount of $ for him.

Yes he did, and he played very well. Maybe not to the same degree as Giovinco, but he's way too good for MLS as well.

I don't see Giovinco leaving. He's getting paid so much money. More than he was being paid at Juventus where he couldn't even get playing time. Is Barcelona or Man United really going to offer him more money and playing time? I don't see it happening.

crazy match. nycfc has to do something bout the CB situation. the clowns they played there today cost them the game. iraola and angelino look good at fullback and with pirlo, lampard, mix coming back soon they should be able to control possession in the midfield and get the fullbacks in attack. itll all be for nothing though if they concede a few goals every match.

giovinco is the best type of signing the league can make. hes not the superstar aging foreign player but he was just below that level and in his prime. players of his caliber attract fans, money, and help win games.

There are players that prefer to stay at bench in a reknown team, than play in a not-well-known team as starter. The question is if Gio is one of them. But I'd like to see him playing in high-level in Europe again... He is better than Falcão Garcias and Balotellis of life.

Hey, the grass is synthetic or natural? The question remains...
