Love the return , hate that we lost leks cuz of contracts like Gallagher, Armia and Hoffman
It's unfortunate for sure that those contracts were probably a factor. Gallagher is owed $8m and $9m in real dollars in 2023 + 2024 seasons... that contract alone can create collateral damage elsewhere in the lineup and on the trade front.

I’ll miss Lehks. Most fun I ever had watching a guy repeatedly bang pucks off the back boards. All heart, IQ, great wheels, seemed like a nice guy. Drafted and trained by the habs despite the black hole their dev and drafting has been.

Will miss Lehks , great 2 way middle 6 player.

But this is the kind of return I wanted for Lehks.

Okay, so does Barron have top 3 potential ?

What? Number 5? Barron is considered a borderline blue chipper who dropped in his draft.

He's a similar prospect to Guhle (I like Guhle more) but Barron imo is one of our top 5 prospects now, maybe top 3.

I think Guhle is a superior prospect. Barron has second-pairing upside, that I can agree with as his mobility and smarts gives him that opportunity, but I don't think he's quite a can't miss type either and thus am using #5 as a conservative barometer.

I agree Guhle is the better prospect but Barron was largely considered a Grade A prospect league wide. Some calling him blue chip. Saying he projects as a 5 would make him basically a bust at this point. More so a realistic floor than a projection.

Can any of you beautiful Habs people tell me what Lehkonen has done of note outside his OT goal against VGK? From what I'm seeing, he's continually failed to live up to expectations since his rookie year, and seems to miss most of the chances he has in front of the net. Barron is going to be a stud, absolutely hate seeing him leave, especially since Byram's concussion problems will likely cut short his career. I really, really don't understand the excitement behind Lehkonen. Is the bar just really that low over there? Getting someone who's paid to score while not scoring doesn't really build my confidence.

Lehkonen is an elite defensive winger who can generate offensive chances.......but is a below par finisher to put it kindly.

He's a great example of someone you fall in like with and will bolster the bottom six. Don't give him more than $4m in a resigning, preferably south of that.

Which expectations?

He was a end of 2nd round pick,. He's a good 3rd line defensive winger scoring on average 15 goals every 82 games in career. You can't really ask more than that from a 2nd round pick.

The return we got from him is very good though.

And with that 2nd round pick, which should be late, we draft Lehkonen 2.0 and do it all over again.
