I think you will find that Barron's superior skating translates better to the NHL game than Guhle's. Both are good prospects, but I believe the Avalanche will live to regret this trade. You trade superior skating at your peril. If he stays healthy, this will be a steal for Montreal. The 2nd round draft choice, is a mere rounding up factor. The gold here was Barron.
I love Barron as a prospect. I've seen him play a ton in junior (admittedly not much this year). God, he just better not bust or it'll make me miss my boy even more.

Another good return. Hughes knows value that's for sure.

Said it in Kulak's thread but there wasn't going to be a better time to trade Lehks. I wish him all the best with the Avs (hope they win the cup actually).

Biggest Habs goal in the last 28 or so years.
Avs Panthers final Guaranteed!

You're talking about scratching him... which was a coach decision. It was a dumb part of your comment that I called out. Simple as that. 90% of the forum here thought he was stupid for scratching Lehkonen too.
It was a stupid comment.....

and if you wanna talk about people here some talked about waiving him at one point its Lehkonen we're talking about hes a 30 point 3rd liner about to make 3/4mill year cant believe people are not exited that we got a A prospect back for him.....

I never said I wasn't excited. You're making shit up. I said he better not bust. That's it.

On that note, have you never had a favourite player? No one is ever excited when their favourites leave.

Yes he was also finnish, our captain and we lost him for nothing

any prospect can bust but today Barron is a A prospect and Hughes would of been stupid not to accept that for a player we can easily replace

even without the 2nd i make that trade ANYDAY

*NOT SUGGESTING WE RUSH HIM*

Have the powers that be said whether or not Barron will get any games with big club this season. Obviously we should just let him develop, but a few games to end the year in the NHL could give him a sense for what he needs to work on in the off-season. He's already played a couple with the Avs this season, so maybe that will do.

Did we get more for Lehkonen than Toffoli? I think so.

I definitely prefer an A prospect + 2nd rather than a 1st + B prospect. Might be biased due to how well the Suzuki trade worked out, but its just so much nicer to know who you're getting and having a clear picture of how he's developing.

It's always good to get more of a known commodity in a good prospect, who isn't being traded because they need a change of scenery. Example: Pacioretty/Suzuki trade.

I don't know much about Barron, but from what I'm seeing he is a huge addition to our RDs, which we need. I like where the habs D core is going.

I really don’t like this trade. We don’t like Drouin where gonna hate Barron. And the 2nd is in 2024. Hope I’m wrong but this feels like they couldn’t move another forward for cap and made a move just to make a move

How come Hughes is still saying that he cannot talk about the Kulak trade ? Not official yet ?
