Barron is a great add. I like that the 2nd rounder is in 2024 after the Habs traded theirs to Arizona in the Dvorak deal. Well done Hughes.

Barron is amazing and that 2nd can turn into anything management wants,we can trade it for a player or to move up in the draft, its a really good trade i like Lehkonen but some habs fan made it seem like he was special hes a 30 point winger that just last year got scratched a few games hes having a career year this year but also needs a new contract
So DD was a good coach? You heard it here first, @Nico Cauzuki loved DD!

I never said it was a bad deal. The value is extremely good if Barron doesn't bust. All I said is he better not f***ing bust.

We are in a shitty position because of Bergevin's love for bottom six guys and overpaying them. I love Lehkonen, but this is 110% the right move as we need to clear cap room and roster spots up front.

On top of it, Lehkonen isn't a big guy and takes a beating on the ice because he works his ass off every game. After watching Gallagher fall off the cliff before he's 30, the last thing this team needs is to sign another gritty smaller forward who could potentially decline after signing a long term deal.

How do you figure? Barron projects as a good puck moving defenseman who can shut teams down. Guhle projects more as a more complete defenseman.

Of course, Barron could easily end up being better than Guhle.. but Guhle's upside is massive because he's better offensively at the same age.
I think you will find that Barron's superior skating translates better to the NHL game than Guhle's. Both are good prospects, but I believe the Avalanche will live to regret this trade. You trade superior skating at your peril. If he stays healthy, this will be a steal for Montreal. The 2nd round draft choice, is a mere rounding up factor. The gold here was Barron.

Didn't want to move Lehkonen but have to return like this. A recent first and a future 2nd. Then we his caproom to spend this summer. Real good trade.

Just a month ago everybody on here saying Lehkonen worth a second.

meh, i thought Guhle was carrying him a lot

I've never been a big fan of Barron but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.. his hockey iq is meh, he has good tools tho.
Disagree, they had very good chimestry and Barron was overall solid.

So Habs trade Toffoli, Lehkonen, Chiarot and Kulak for:

Emil Heineman.
Ty Smilanic.
Justin Barron.
William Lagesson
1st pick CGY 2022.
1st pick FLA 2023.
2nd pick EDM 2023.
2nd pick COL 2024.
4th pick NYR/WIN 2022.
5th pick CGY 2023.

That's PRETTY good!!
And picked up Pitlick on waivers as a bonus

All I said is he better not f***ing bust. He's a great prospect (although more question marks than Guhle coming up, IMO). And the 2nd is 3 drafts away, I couldn't care less about that. Gorton will probably be gone by then lol
Lehkonen was a second draft choice.

Yup, we were thin on R D. Guhle with Romanov then Barron and Mailloux on right side gives us future good front 4

wtf DD...... what are you smoking right now
You're talking about scratching him... which was a coach decision. It was a dumb part of your comment that I called out. Simple as that. 90% of the forum here thought he was stupid for scratching Lehkonen too.

Good Trade!
One of the players I was always rooting for , despite him messing up so much. Good luck Leks, it was fun/frustrating but you seemed like a good dude to the team!

Too bad we'll need to give a lot of those picks away to get rid of Armia, Gallagher, and potentially Petry (I'd rather give away a pick than retain salary for years).
