First overall level talent with better skating? Hamrlik was such an intelligent player, I'm having trouble to find a comparable player in the league right now. Larsson when he was still a Devil reminded me of him
Well Hamrlik never really lived up to his 1st overall status. He was an incredible second pairing defenseman though.

Lehkonen was clearly his best friend on the team, nothing lame in that post.
I found "And remember what we’ve preached for years . Integrity over everything." to be very uncool, personally

A RD was a priority need, but this Barron fellow better be a good one.

I feel this is a good trade but we are going to hype Barron like we did with Brook and Norlinder and even Harris. One of them should hit. That's basically how I see it. We have a lot of grade B+ and there will be disappointment but probability says we will hit with some of them. There are just too many of them not to hit.

We have to wait it out. Won't really know until age 23 ish for most of them.

Or we got rid of a solid player for magic beans?
Bahaha ....So we've had a glaring need for a promising RD since PK but we shouldn't make a move for one when he's presented to us.

If you live in fear you'll never succeed

Barron is better then those guy though and he‘s doing very well in the AHL at 20 what is a good sign

Don't get me wrong. I like trading for him. Grade B+ trending well and he's a big body that skates well. However, it takes time to really know what you got.
Not all those B's and B+ will be NHL'ers. But some of them will and some of them will turn into big assets for us. Will that be Barron? I won't bet against or for it.

Well, they made the move and are hoping this kid becomes a solid NHLer. It's still a gamble while Lehky is a sure thing...

Play Caufield at defense and have the Coal Baron pairing

Or pair him with Klague and have the Kale Baron pairing lol

Dios mio Gallagher's comment so effing lame. So painfully lame.

What did you want him to say..."see you in the finals"?

Gallagher, and every habs fan, is smart enough to realize Lehkonen just went from a lottery team to a serious SC contender. Nothing wrong with wishing him luck in winning it after they came so close last year.

I mean...sure I guess. But that's pretty much inherent to the entire thing. Nobody is trading you an absolute slam dunk prospect for a 3rd line forward, there's always risk involved with making these deals, but there's also risk involved with giving Lehkonen an extension at market value.

I wasn't opposed to keeping Lehkonen unless we got an offer that was too good to refuse, and that's what this one was. Barron isn't a blue chipper but this is a high end prospect at a premium position who fills a glaring need in our system. If he doesn't pan out then it is what it is, prospects are never a sure thing but the process here is good.
