This is playoffs. Wins and losses are what matter. Results are what matter. Not underlying analytics.

He's not playing like a f***ing 11.6 million dollar player in these playoffs. Not even remotely close. The results speak for themselves.

I mean SA brings up a good point. Game 3 there was a lot of talk how we got outplayed because of shot attempts despite the result being a win.

I cannot wait for all of the brain geniuses to defend him and pretend he was nothing more than hot garbage since he scored a garbage time goal. A few people are already LITERALLY doing just that in the GDT.

Pathetic performance from him. Gutless. I couldn't care less if we move on from him after this utterly pathetic performance.

Cannot wait for a certain few guys (we all know who) to come in here and pretend he was anything other than horrible.

Played FAR better than Zibanejad.

Yeah, no. They can both go away.

I question the sanity, vision, brain capacity, etc. of anyone remotely defending Panarin at this point. What an utterly pathetic, cowardly playoffs from him other than a couple games against Washington.

My God. It's hard to find a player I've been more disappointed in than him.

Utterly pathetic. I am not rushing to trade him, but I could not possibly care less if he was a Ranger next year or not.

I have never seen a player shy so far away from contact with a puck to just effortlessly shoot or dump it away. It’s simple, you do not win a Cup with your best regular season player being a finesse player (aside from being a generational talent).

He didn't (that belongs to Jagr) and his playoff was just okay at best.

I'm sorry, 11.6 million is too much for a guy who was at best, their 4th best forward during these playoffs.
No; it’s him if you count points for both regular season and play offs.

Without Panarin, Rangers will be much weaker offensively

He wasn’t good enough offensively in the playoffs. Big part of the reason that they aren’t still playing.

Not the only one or the biggest one, but he is a part of that equation.

Jagr at least showed up in the playoffs.

Nice suggestion after he had the best ever season in the Rangers franchise history

If this is going to be your take today, I highly suggest you come back in a week or so after the board has calmed down.

I mean, do what you want to do, but these takes are incredibly dumb and untimely.

I question his work ethic. In the playoffs you have to earn the ice given to you. He refused to try to skate by Mikkola or Burns or anyone for that matter. Just throws a couple bullshit headfakes while he throws the puck like a grenade to nowhere.

Nylander got a ton of shit (rightfully) for dipping out of board battles and not hustling. Panarin was just as bad if not worse.

Then to make matters worse, he was worse on the PP where he did have some time and space. Just brainded decisions and his stubbornness to try to pass it through 4 sticks will never work in the playoffs where the best defenders are on the ice for the PK.

Panarin's playoff struggles shouldn't really be a surprise. He a small player without elite skating. That is always going to be an uphill battle.
Size still matters deep in the playoffs. Reinhart always looks small to me but I think he is over 6 feet.

He is always going to be vulnerable in a seven game series playing for a team that has no forward depth. Any opposing coach with half a brain is going to devote significant resources to shutting him down. He is a ninja type player, a heavily upgraded Marian Gaborik. He's not a war horse like MacKinnon, Malkin or prime Crosby who can battle through even after the other team locks in on him. The best thing the Rangers can do for Panarin is find a player who can generate offense at 5v5 on a line other than Panarin's. We quite literally don't have anyone that can do that right now.

Rangers always tie their horse to the wrong wagon, it seems. Playoff ghosts. Nash, Gaborik (not counting his cup year with Kings), Panarin.

At no point did I think "he's going to put the team on his shoulders and pull out something special."

Kreider did (once, with style). Laf did. Trocheck did. Panarin? Eh... Maybe?

That isn't good enough from the player who is supposed to be your go to guy.

His line mates were productive and way more visible in this series.

He's making 11.6. If he isn't a warhorse, he can get the f*** out of here for that kind of money. He didn't get locked in on in this series, That happened to CK/Mika. They drew the tough matchups, not Artemi. I'd be less annoyed if he were creating and getting goalie'd because you can't handle that. He wasn't.

The best thing the Rangers can do is move on from this guy. He's proven that he's not the guy or even the guy after the guy. You're not going to win with this guy as your featured offensive player.
