How wasn't this a goal

That was very much a goal. I was pissed when I saw it and I couldn't care less about the Oilers or McDavid (other than he's a supreme talent that's fun to watch and good for the game, of course).

I've seen some of the worst calls this year, in our games, in other games. More than I remember seeing so early in a season in quite some time. Some calls really do need to be reversed by Toronto regardless. Everyone with functioning eyes knows that's a goal.

What on earth is going on with the Pens this year?

I'm going to freak if they end up with Hughes. That would be three gift wrapped generational centers within the past 15 years.

Start preparing yourself for it now. We all know it's going to happen.

Don’t disagree with the rest of the post, but Hughes isn’t supposed to be a generational player. More on the scale of a Kane level franchise player rather than a Crosby level generational one.

Jesus, the talent some of these younger teams are loaded with is incredible. Even if most of our prospects pan out it's going to be no easy task to compete with the likes of Toronto, Buffalo, Avalanche and Tampa in the coming years.

Rangers brass have their work cut out for them that's for sure

The cap will bring everyone back to earth. Even Tampa with their sweetheart deals will have to make painful decisions. Point is going to make bank. All those no move clauses are going to be a nightmare.

I know, I was exaggerating. It would be so Rangers for them to squeak into the playoffs in a year they were supposed to rebuild while an East favorite and a team I loathe like the Penguins bottoms out and wins the lottery.

Why does NHLcom show game highlights out of chronological order? **** I hate this site.

Well judging from experience, because someone who understood sports well wrote requirements, and passed them to a contracted PM who didn't read them and sent them off to a far part of the world to be coded by someone who never watched hockey who coded it exactly the way it was written.

"Well you didn't actually state they should be in order! Look right there, it says query goals and return.."

Still hoping the main thread for Nylander gets to Nylander XXX

Manny places Carolina's shooting quality at -22.9, good for 31st in the NHL. I'm not sure entirely what that number means, but I do know that 30th in the league is sitting at -4.09. That's a difference of more than 18.

Carolina is consistently the top corsi team, but they're just bizarrely bad at offense.

those teams are so ahead of the curve, it is ridiculous. Something Sather hadn't seen coming. While we were concerned about the likes of Gaborik, Callahan, Marty, Nash etc. etc. etc......there were NO accommodations towards the future. What future? Sather wasn't thinking future. was he?

Gorton is playing 'CATCH UP" and doing very well, i might add. Thing is, while we are playing catch up....teams like Buffalo, Carolina, Colorado and Toronto may be winning cups (or, at least getting there) more likely TB and SJ, Nashville win it, or Washington winning it yet again.

Pittsburgh caught in the middle like the Rangers were for so many years, and teams like Chicago, Detroit, the Kings are older and NEED to get where the Rangers have already started. The Canadiens, jeez I dont know where they are headed, maybe in the Canada abyss like Edmonton, Vancouver and Calgary.

and yeah, if they score on a top 3, I will freaking effin, freak the eff out!

I mean maybe they are just not good at scoring?

This is more than a bad streak for them. It's been years of high shot counts and multiple coaches, and they can't score.
