Montreal with 27 shots. In the 2nd period :)

The Montreal-Ottawa game actually resembled ours a lot. Game was tied 1-1 and Habs had a 5 on 3 for over a minute but failed to convert. Anderson pretty much stood on his head and Price let in some softies to give the Sens the lead. I don't think we pressured Holtby as much but he stopped the shots he needed to.

Ducks may have lost, but came back from 3 down in the 3rd period. Meanwhile, our team apparently gave up after going down 2 in the second :shakehead

Gryba's hit was clean imo. Diaz gave Eller a hospital pass and then people are surprised when he is on the way to the hospital. He smacked his face on the ice, ala K Stevens. That is why there was blood, that is why there was missing teeth, that is why there was the need for a stretcher

this

No way that's a 5 min major.

That Gryba hit was awesome.

I don't think so.

Eller never had possession of the puck. That was interference. The way it should be called, maybe not the traditional thinking. That's why everyone is pissed off it was called. Sorry, but its too dangerous, too careless to linebacker guys in open ice who don't have the puck but a half a sec.

Wasn't interference

Prust has had enough of Ottawa. Neil concussed Boyle last year. Now Gryba almost killed Eller. Its a hockey hit. Its a nasty hit. The NHL is trying to get those plays out of the game. Too many careers have been ended with the "he had his head down so it gives me a free shot" stuff.

Bingo !

Time to join the future.

so if a player has his head down, he isnt suppose to get hit.. . i thought it was a suspension type hit but not Gryba's fault for looking down at the puck.... dont's players learn as a youngster in junior or even the lower levels to keep your head up at all costs.. Anisimov sadly hasnt learned that yet....

HUGE difference between hitting to separate the man from the puck and looking to take advantage of a player in a vulnerable position.

It's a lack of respect between players.

Absolutely not.

Skating with your head down should not be paid for by getting your career ended.

The size and speed of the game cannot be sized up by even the best players in the world who have played countless hockey games in their careers, yet they were caught with their head 'out of position'. Shanahan when with the Rangers was just skating and collided with Knuble, should he and Knuble not have foreseen that? Crosby got leveled in a similar way, it was just a collision, again, you can't always 'keep your head up', the game works too fast, no one can keep their full range of sight up and aware of every player on the ice. In some instances we've seen guys collide with their own teammates and get concussed.

Some things you will not be able to stop, but this is one instance where the interference calls have to change to fit the safer style of play.
