I know. It's a travesty.

You always hate to see a guy go down like that, but if you take away those hits, there is no more open ice hitting in hockey. Joke of a suspension.

Might as well just adopt the eurohockey rulebook. I agreed with the hitting from behind rules, but they're taking this way too far. Players look afraid to make big hits this year because of the overofficiating on it. Players get hurt sometimes, it's part of the sport.

Matt Carkner gets 1 game for intentionally punching Boyle repeatedly with fisticuffs. Eric Gryba gets 2 games for a strong hockey hit.

What the **** is wrong with Shanahan? Like seriously what the ****.

This really makes me wonder how Pacioretty didn't get supplementary discipline for his hit on McDonagh.

Shanahan has officially gone insane. Insane.

Brandon Prust on MacLean's post-game comments: "I'm not gonna worry about what that bug eyed fat walrus has to say."

wow, can't wait for the game tonight! Don't agree with the suspension for Gryba.

It's pretty damning that after several years in operation, it's still impossible to predict the decisions of the NHL Department of Player Safety.

I really don't like the holier than thou attitude a lot of Montreal fans have. They act like their **** don't stink

seems like the damage was done when his head hit the ice, similar to the Bertuzzi incident.

I'd like to be able to look at it and say "dirty" but I can't. I just don't see it.

Look I feel for Eller. But it makes me absolutely sick what the NHL is doing to physical play.

Castrating the game to comply with the lawyers. It really makes me sick.

It was a stupid pass, and the hit was mostly clean (first impact was to the body), but the player was in a very vulnerable position and Gryba took advantage. I would have been OK with no suspension, because I feel the hit was clean, but at the end of the day his head was hit. He was unconscious before his head/face hit the ice.
