so tempted to make a 'Just give the Pens the cup now' thread on playoff board. lol

Dupuis is a better offensive, faster and less physical version of Callahan. Pretty similar players.

Difference is that Dupuis is a role player/3rd liner for Pens, while Callahan is leading ice time getter amongst fwds for Rangers. Discrepancy in rosters are very large.

Dupuis has been in the league 12 years and has never scored as many goals as Callahan did last year and has only once scored more points - on a team with Malkin, Crosby, Neal, Letang & Martin. Oh, and other **** you're missing: Callahan is a team leader, a great penalty killer, and one of the wheels that makes the Rangers engine turn.

Nearly every post I read of yours is negative about the Rangers. Why don't you go back to whatever team board you're really a fan of? It can't be the Rangers.

Pascal Dupuis averaged more ice time per game than James Neal.

Cause they're up 5-0 against an Islanders team which hasn't been in the playoffs for over 6 years, young + inexperienced, and began a slump against bad competition in the final 4 games? Ok. Go ahead.

Why are we comparing only goal totals?

Dupuis last yr scored 7 more pts than Callahan and Crosby only played 22 games.

He didn't play with Crosby or Malkin much. His most common linemates last year were Jordan Staal and Steve Sullivan.

Dupuis is much more talented offensively, is faster, smarter and brings just as many 'intangibles' as Callahan does. But he does it while dominating possession while on the ice, Callahan can't do that.

Of course I'm a fan! I just don't look through this team through blue and red tinted goggles like I did previous years. How am I always negative? I defended Stepan when he was getting bashed, defended MDZ when he was getting bashed and Girardi now that he's getting bashed.

Basically all of this.... There isn't one logical thinking person that would take Dupuis over Callahan....

Isles are not a playoff team and it shows. They got lucky with the shortened season. In a full season theyre on the outside looking in, per usual.

Well if they ended up losing, it would be great to look back at how much of an idiot I was. ;)

Neal is a pretty one-dimensional scorer. Dupuis sets the pace on the wings for the Penguins.

You just said he's a "role player", and is not played in the "wrong role". You were proven wrong.

Dupuis just had his first 20 goal season. He's 34. Callahan has three 20+ goal seasons, is 27, and would have had a fourth if this season were greater than 48 games.

Dupuis benefits from playing with an elite, well structured hockey team. He wouldn't be putting these numbers up with Winnipeg or Boston.

Well to start off, i'm about to eat major crow, since I thought the Isles could surprise this Pens team. They're out matched. They're just not up to the Pens level. That doesn't mean other teams aren't.

Sens could give the Pens a little bit of a problem. So could the Rangers and Capitals. Definitely the winner of the west as well. I'm not crowning them yet.
