Montreal lucky to win that one. Buffalo should've had a 5 min powerplay after that nasty check from behind into the boards. Probably would've changed the outcomes of that game.

I mean... wow. A shootout win against Buffalo.

I think what's most amusing is this is probably something to build on if you're Buffalo, something to panic about if you're Montreal. If this is a trend for Montreal - getting blown out occasionally but mostly close games... you have to be concerned if you're a fan. They're not going to keep coming out on top as frequently as the Habs have been.

Montreal has drive, in a way they're "pesky", they tend not to give up and they get a lot more out of their players than you would expect. You can call it luck, but a lot of it is a must-win attitude driven by the fans and culture. Of course the flipside to that is when things start to go wrong they go wrong huge and the poison spreads even faster than in leafland

I disagree with this. I think it's somewhere between average to good. They have some nice players in the pipe.

Maybe I need to word it better... it's because I was talking about both depth and prospect pool at the same time, meant to say their depth is crap and their prospect pool is mediocre (average). If you think the Sens prospects are generally hyped, wait to see for Habs prospects. Tinordi, Fuchale and Beaulieu (their 3 best prospects on HF) are overrated IMO... and so many were before (been following that team for a long time being in Montreal). Hudon and Andrighetto have good potential, Scherbak and McCarron have good productive starts, De La Rose will probably be a good 3rd liner but their pool is considered vastly better than the Sens and I couldn't disagree more with that... I mean, Sens have Paul at 16th, Lindberg at 17th, McCormick at 20th, Robinson at 22th, Wideman at 23th, Perron at 25th, etc. Did you know they had 5 forwards prospects with the same grade as Lazar on HF? Personally, I don't think they have a prospect nearly as good as Lazar, Ceci or Stone. Thing is when you compare the individual stats and progressions over the years and how is Hamilton has been doing for a while, I know which pool I would take

By the way, some are already pencilling Scherbak on their first line RW for next year and comparing him with Galchenyuk... Sens fans are wayyyyy more conservative, which may appear a bit weird to read

Would you take Lazar, Ceci and Stone or Tinordi, De La Rose and Beaulieu? Would you take Puempel, Pageau and Claesson or Scherbak, Andrighetto and Fucale? Prince, Englund, Wikstrand and Dzingel or McCarron, Lehkonen, Nygren and Sekac? In reality both pools are decent/good and probably close but I'd take the Sens one. Don't see why Habs would be 10th and Sens 19th

If I find some time to soon, I will make a table comparing both pools and players production, should be fun

I agree with this. I think the Sens pool is better overall. But they do have one player which is hands down better than any one of our prospects. That's Galchenyuk. I also like Sherbak, Sekac, Beaulieu and De La Rose. But like you said, I wouldn't take most of them over our prospects.

Stars on a 6 game losing streak.

I wonder if Spezza is going to resign there or just go to free agency.

Stars defense is garbage. They are not going anywhere if they do not upgrade the defense.

Dallas. So much firepower, 6 losses in a row and last place in the division.
5-game pointless streak for Spezza/Benn.

I hope they don't get more for Spezza at the deadline than we did. With our luck they'll trade him back to the East. We should have protected a trade to the East like Boston did. Having the 2nd upgrade to a 1st if they traded East would be nice.

Lol more of a return for Spezza?
Hey I like Spezza but he's gone downhill fast due to chronic injuries.
Unfortunately he's lost several million on his next deal
