If Sather decides to move Talbot this summer (UFA in one year and unlikely to resign if he wants to be a starter) what about Marty to back up Henrik? Just saying...

I can't see Marty coming to this team to backup his rival. I think they'll keep Talbot next season. I don't envision a lot of teams chomping at the bit to grab him via trade given the current market for goalies. Only team I could really see having interest would be Winnipeg because they could tandem him with Pavelec for a year before deciding if they want to make him the starter.

Lol Marty Fatso a Ranger would be unbearably painful for both teams so it is a wash. Although I fully admit him having to back-up Henrik would please me greatly.

I hope he plays to 50 so we can look at the last decade of his career and laugh at how absurd an otherwise great career became.

It'd be INFINITELY more painful for Debs fans.

Maybe--but Brodeur would booed sitting on the bench--he'd be a complete distraction. Personally, I've had more than enough Devils players stuffed down my throat since Sather came here.

However, it's not an issue because Talbot is signed for $575,000 next year. The money saved there is going to pay a player like Zucc. Win-Win.

Bobbop is taking you all for a ride!

I could also imagine people cheering him just for screwing Devils fans that hard.

@HabsLinks: Pierre McGuire just told @HunterZThompson not to be surprised if Joe Thornton lands in Chicago. That would be something...”

Hmm......

Anything to keep Sather away from that possibility. Anything.

Not sure how SJ/CHI work that one out, but it should be interesting if they do. Chicago will have solved their 2C problem and then some.

Looks like Spezza wants out of Ottawa. I personally think he'd be great here. Just wondering what it will take for it to happen.

I do know that Spezza has listed MSG as his favorite road arena. Just some food for thought.

Ottawa would probably prefer to trade him somewhere in the Western Conference so Spezza doesn't come back and "stick it to them". Of course, that will depend on the of the offers they get. I doubt Sather has enough to entice Ottawa anyway.
