HAHA at Kovy wanting to come back to the Devils. I hope they try and the owners shoot it down. Would be hilarious. No chance the owners let him come back, basically letting the Debbies get away with Cap Circumvention. Not a chance.

Ottawa would probably prefer to trade him somewhere in the Western Conference so Spezza doesn't come back and "stick it to them". Of course, that will depend on the of the offers they get. I doubt Sather has enough to entice Ottawa anyway.

Does ottawa still need a goalie? Talbot for spezza :sarcasm:

Why would Sather move Talbot? Especially since he's signed $575,000?

Are you having a senior moment?:naughty:

No buddy...he's one and done and may have some real trade value. If he had another year like this one he would definitely be gone. Think of him like any other player with one year to run (i.e. Callahan) with the understanding that he will never be more than a backup here. Under those circumstances, I'd take Marty for a year.

I think you're insane then:naughty:

And what kind of value do you think Talbot has anyway? The team isn't going to get anything back that would help them now and I don't think Fatso would be a better backup than Talbot.

And even if Jackass decides to ram Fatso down Ranger fans throats, who's the backup the year after next?

Looks like Spezza wants out of Ottawa. I personally think he'd be great here. Just wondering what it will take for it to happen.

You have to wonder at this point. Bryan Murray is going to have a 3rd messy breakup with a player from the top line during that team's best years. Heatley demanded a trade. Alfredsson left via UFA after being insulted. Spezza demands a trade. At what point is the problem with Murray and not with the players?

what on Earth would they give up for the guy, though? Chicago would have to shed cap going the other way.

Don't know his cap hit but Sharp is the first one name that popped up in my head.

I think he would be a sweet fit here but I just don't wants to give up any major assets for him. Old and a notorious choker, not really what we need...

Marty will never play for the rangers (thank god)

Talbot is gone at the deadline next year. We should be able to get a decent pick or prospect depending on how strapped the market is. If a team with a play off chance finds them selves like the Wild did this year we might be able to get a great deal instead of a good deal.

You think boston and the sharks are going to trade?

Expect lots of movement at the draft, to include UFA rights.

Cap going up coupled with some serious underachieving by elite and non-playoff teams will make it a buyers market.

The East is wide open. The Pens are going to make big changes. Boston faces a life without Chara. Philly has an old defense and questions in goal.

Tampa is very good.

Who else is there? Montreal is ok. Washington is a mess. Ottawa is a mess. The Devils are a crumbling sad joke of a franchise. The Isles just suck and are a bunch of nobodies.

One or two slight upgrades and the Rangers can be right back.

I wonder if SJ and Chi are going to make a blockbuster trade

SJ has to. Enough is enough. Chicago doesn't have to do anything. they have excellent young forwards.

To be honest, replacing Richards with Thornton - Nash's buddy - screams Sather.

He just doesn't have the assets to do it.

I think Thornton and Marleau are a package deal but not to a good team.

so aside from richards, anyone note-worthy around the league expected to be bought out?

Would take him in a second.

Means Jeff Carter would eventually follow him here too :D

He's going to get overpaid and he's slow as **** at this point. No thanks.

Brad Richards will also be overpaid.

It's going to be Vinny L. all over again with both of these guys.

Brian Boyle and Brad Richards are slow. Mike Richards is no slower. He'll be cheaper than Brad on term and cap hit. Oh, and he's won two Cups.

Hasn't Thornton gone on record saying he'd never play for the Rangers? Not to mention he's blasted the team every chance he's gotten in his career.

I don't know about the first but you're absolutely correct in his strange hatred of the Rangers. **** Joe. It would be wonderful if he never won a ring.

Get a D that can move the puck, a center like ROR, and a bit more size, and the Rangers could take out Boston.

Just a few tweaks.
