That return was awful for St. Louis...which is about what I expected. Sucks Washington reaped the rewards of it, though. St. Louis had to deal him.

He hasn't impressed me much since the Olympics...where he was awesome.

With Oshie and Williams in the fold, the Caps look poised to take another step. They're a much more serious team than they used to be.

kind of surprised the Pens weren't in for Williams. I would have loved him, not a big fan of Oshie on the other hand...

As a Pens fan, you can only hope he signs something shorter term and hits free agency in the near future.

Yikes, unless that Copley guy is going to really good, that looks like an awful trade for St. Louis.

I would think that the Cap's last move, Holtby, Kuznetsov and Johansson still need signed as well.

Washington has made some nice moves. I don't think they'll miss Green that much / do think they'll be a better team. As long as they keep losing to the Rangers in the playoffs, the world remains in order.

Seems like the Caps finally figured out that they can't be a 1 line team and need to add some depth to help out Kuznetsov and Burakovsky. The addition of Williams will be a big help, but Oshie, he's a slightly above average skater that is a 40-50pt player.

He's not some world beater here.

I'm not really sure why St Louis had to deal him. Berglund should have been the sacrificial lamb, IMO, not Oshie. Now maybe they move both of them, but no reason to move the better of the two for peanuts.

Wow....Craig Simpson says tthat Oshie has 40-50 goal potential.

A few days ago (before Oshie was moved) I had a friend tell me that Oshie was an elite sniper who was much, much better than Hornqvist. Apparently Hornqvist only puts up numbers because he plays with Crosby.

I pointed out that Hornqvist hit 30 goals and on an offensively challenged team in Nashville, as well as putting up 20 goals in every full, healthy season he played there while Oshie has only hit 20 goals once. My friend went silent.

That Olympic shootout has created a certain perception of Oshie among those who don't watch the NHL too closely...and Craig Simpson apparently.
