I'm going to book mark my own post here...

My predictions (which eases my mind of the Despres trade, for me anyways, leave me be)..

I think Hodgson going to a Western Conference team will have him rebound in a big way and Neal will likely put up bigger numbers next year because of his options being Hodgson or Ribeiro, but the biggest thing is that Hodgson was not fast enough for the Eastern Conference, even on a terrible team, in the West, he fits in perfectly.

On the flip side...Zack Kassian never really was used correctly by Desjardins and is now going to a team that is hungry for size and speed and he brings both, along with solid hands and potential. I would not be shocked to see Kassian hit 20 goals and surpass 40+ pts next year as well.

Canucks got hosed, they lose both, gain a 4th line plug.

Yikes.

Everyone seems to be saying **** about guys that are gone.

Hamilton - Moved, suddenly you hear he is a loner and didn't like the people he played with.
Saad - Apparently there was stuff that hindered his development now.
Kessel - Everyone was supposedly tired of him and are glad he's gone.

Etc, etc.

The media folks are sore losers. Very sore losers.

I only just found out that Megna's deal with the Rangers in one-way. Kind of surprised. Good for him.

It seems like they're picking up every speedy player they can get their hands on and hoping they hit a home run to replace Hagelin.

Megna, Gibbons, Etem and Stalberg.

Although any combination of Etem, Megna and Stalberg seems like it would be a Keystone Kops routine.

Hi Pens fans, Jets fan here looking for a quick scouting report on Ehrhoff. We're looking for a top 4 LHD, and his advanced stats seem pretty good.

i wish he wouldve retired for his own sake. so many (head) injuries, so much tentative play. had a handful of games where he looked to be back to his vancouver days, but they were definitely the exception rather than the rule.

Yeah... we broke him...

I thought he was meh in the beginning, became good and then got injured. After he got the knee (I think that's what it was) injury he struggled and then ran into concussion problems. He didn't really play after the first concussion. When he was on, he was good defensively, a good puck mover with a hard but not remarkably accurate shot; not physical. The Pens didn't really use him on PP1 because Tocchet happened and Kunitz needed his 1000 chances, but Ehrhoff wasn't great at keeping the puck in if memory serves.

He didn't have a good season here and I'd be concerned about the concussions. You'd probably like him well enough but the concussions...

So Saad.

Kinda just out there still. I would have thought that he would have had all the money thrown at him and signed by now, like the trade pieces sent to Chicago already have.

Likely waiting on an offer sheet?

I would be very nervous after all that was given up for him if I were a CBJ fan. Their owner likely matches, but I wonder how high the price will be.

If I were Saad, I'd be trying to sign a deal that takes me right to free agency.

Would it be the same deal for Columbus as it would for the Stanley Cup winning Blackhawks? You would think after throwing all those assets at Chicago that offer already is on the table and has not yet been accepted. I doubt that they are lowballing him. It will be interesting to see play out.

I doubt it. He has no personal attachment to Columbus, why does he care if they get a discount? It's not like they don't have the cap space to give him a big deal either.

If he wants to get paid and/or control where he plays, he should settle for a 4 year deal at a 5.5M AAV, and then cash in at the destination of his choosing.

Chicago was reportedly offering $5 million per. He wanted $6 from them. He could get an offer sheet for $6.5. If I am his agent I am courting teams to do that.

I didn't hear that Chicago was offering 5M. I find it hard to believe that they would have just traded him because of a 1M dispute.

I'm still hoping we see Glass-Gibbons-Megna at some point. Glass would enter the offensive zone just in time to pick up the rebound/turnover Gibbons and Megna generated when they got there a couple seconds ahead of him. It's flawless.
