Meanwhile, the shitty Canucks can beat the 'Canes.
Honestly, the Pens just look mentally defeated this season. I don't know what's going on in the lockerroom but it's definitely not looking like this team believes its own PR.

Anyhow regarding Central Scouting's annual midterm list, Šalé out of Brno Kometa is intriguing. Dude destroyed the U20 league and is holding his own in a pretty competitive adult league. @Randy Butternubs was talking about a playmaking winger? Well, he's got the makings of a varsity athlete playmaking winger.

So the Canucks might replace Boudreau with Tocchet. Woof... They would get the usual coaching bump before giving him a 3-year contract.

It's January. The time to make a meaningful coaching change would have been October/November. At this point, though, they should just tough it out and hire an actual head coach in the summer.

Man, I was just talking about how it's only a matter of time before some dipshit team gives Tocchet a coaching job. The NHL is just a clownfest fraternity.

It's akin to MLB allowing Pete Rose to manage a baseball team.
But I also think Tochhett is highly regarded in the NHL because he essentially was a fall guy for the sport's greatest player: Gretzky

That buys you a ton of grace and latitude

I didn't even mean the gambling thing. Dude's a shit coach and has failed everywhere he's gone to be head coach. But once you're in the fraternity, you're in forever and it's only a matter of time until you get another job.

Guess it beats listening to Biz every night on TNT.

I’m watching the Avs game right now and I kinda feel like the Penguins should have kept ERod

He’s at about a 60 point pace right now.

They definitely should have. Choosing Carter and Kapanen over Erod and McCann have been big mistakes.

The issue is Rodrigues was allegedly asking for 4+ million and term.

He was offered 10.5 over three years according to Seravelli and turned it down because he believed he could get more.

They definitely should have. Choosing Carter and Kapanen over Erod and McCann have been big mistakes.

No issue with Kapanen honestly. I was on the record at the time when Carter was signed that I would’ve much preferred Rodrigues.

A lot of the same posters like @Empoleon8771 above said Carter was at a sixty point pace and that was ridiculous…

The problem is who our coach is. If we'd kept E-Rod we'd never have seen Rakell on Crosby's line because Sullivan would have alternated between Rust and E-Rod in that spot.

The less "toys" Sullivan has to play with, the better.

Big Rodrigues fan, but I feel like you just cycle those guys in and out. It's why Blueger, Ruhwedel, etc. should all be gone.
Well that’s part of the issue. It’s not that the guys who were cycled out were irreplaceable, it’s that theyre better than the guys who’s stayed
