It's kind of hilarious who the top two guys on that list are.
McCann was used idiotically by Sullivan. This revisionist bullshit is nothing but self inflicted stupidity.

Also 5m/yr for McCann at the time likely would have f***ed this team in some way we just don't know. I liked Jared a lot. But this coach is a moron. We'd have seen Jared continued to be used poorly. In Seattle he's a top dog with Burakovsky, Gourde, Beniers etc.

I feel like if our coach wasn't such a dipshit with usage and youth who knows who would do well here. Puustinen is being wasted. Doc is being pushed as a grinder, etc etc.

Sprong scored again now has 14 goals.

It's almost like it's a coach's job to put players in a position where they can succeed by playing to their strengths and hiding their weaknesses, instead of expecting every single player to play like a defensive 4th line plug with no offensive creativity and then bench them when that's not their game.

It's funny because that's exactly what Sullivan did in 15-16 and 16-17 that won us cups and then 17-18 happened.

Foreign concepts to Michael Sullivan.

What we didn't know then vs what we know now is that it wasn't so much him using youth vs him using "his guys" and then later, us realizing who his type of guys are.

Rust, Kuhnhackl, Wilson, Archibald, etc.

Young players need time to develop..most normal non generational players will take early to almost mid 20s by the time their ready for the NHL.

Once Sprong got to the Caps you saw improvement and not sure why they gave up also.

Because they have an old coach who is doing the same thing with Strome. He scratched Strome last game for pluggers because “they need PKers”.

I actually would rather see Arizona get Bedard. We joke about the arena situation but the city doesn't play ball and didn't until recently. But outside of that dipshit Miller thing, I don't mind them. They lost out on Matthews, Mcdavid, Eichel, etc. They've hired a lot of bad people as well.

The last part is very self inflicted and they continue to do that.
Ugh no... Because that will invoke endless talk about him being traded for Matthews when the Leafs bomb out in round 1 again. Or, him and Matthews playing together when Matthews runs home.

I just don't want Bedard to end up in Philly, really. It's a lose-lose as a Pens fan and hockey fan. Either he really is a generational talent and he torches the Pens for the next 20 years, or the Flyers and Torts absolutely ruin a guy who looks every bit the part of an absolute gem to watch.

I kinda want him on the Ducks to be honest. Screw Philly and Columbus. Habs dont deserve him. Chicago is a horrible organization and he will rot in Arizona.

For the record I think Michkov has the potential to outperform Bedard in the NHL.

In the games I’ve seen he’s the best Russian prospect since Malkin / Ovi and he simply hasn’t got the chance to prove it in international competition. He was easily the best forward at the U18s.

After those two I’d say Leo Carlsson turns out to be the best player in the draft and I think the late pick that you could shape your franchise around is Yager.
