Boston and Tampa has 3 fights at puck drop, unfortunately I get to listen to the impaired Jack Edwards analysis on it.

Going to be a fun one between two douche teams.

Jeannot bumps Ullmark now as he came out to play the puck and then tries to get after Clifton. Turn this one on if you’ve got a few mins.

Dont look now, but Isles fans are starting to turn on Horvat. Rightfully so, he's being paid to put up points.

I know some posters pointed to the Isles recent record as evidence of Horvat having a big impact while Barzal was injured, but I'd say that's due to their defensive system and goaltending rather than Horvat being unable to put up points.

I was never a fan of that trade and sign, and was a bit surprised posters were pointing to that move as an indicator of the Sabres screwing up.

Ekholm? Sure. Horvat? That's not the type of trad Id be lining up to make. Incredibly high shooting % on the year, career year, wanted to get paid, was going to hurt a bit to acquire, etc...

Who wanted Horvat? I thought it was more frustration that the Isles were making moves and the Sabres weren’t. Didn’t want that player, personally, just a player. Of immediate substance. Instead we got Greenway and Stillman, meh.

Also, I know it’s sacrilege, but am I the only one low-key rooting for the leafs this year? I don’t like a lot of their players, but I like TB even less, and the leafs are entertaining, at least. The jokes are old and the fans get so damned defensive- let ‘em win one round, lose to Boston, and then we can all just laugh about that legacy. Although f*** Boston too.

Yeah, both the trade and the extension were moves made because Lou is likely going to retire well before the loss of picks and Horvat's horribad contract cost the Isles anything.

That is the cautionary tale for any "make a MOVE!!!!!" knee jerk reactions.
