from Wheatfield, NY
NFL - 32
NBA - 29
NHL - 25

Number of teams in the United States.

NHL has some big markets uncovered.

(And yes, your statement will still be true)
I'm not sure about that. NFL cities/markets without an NHL team...

Cincy and Cleveland, sort of (Columbus)
Baltimore, sort of (Washington)
Tennessee (Nashville)
Indy
Houston
Jax
KC
GB
Atlanta
New Orleans
San Fran

I don't see Atlanta as a viable candidate, and that's probably the best option on the list.

Atlanta's previous issues were directly tied to shitty ownership. Unless someone can say convincingly that a team there will have legitimately good ownership, there is zero chance of a team working out there. Especially since the market itself isn't exactly clamoring for hockey anyways.

And even if there are good owners who do give a damn, that's still no guarantee of success.

So does anyone with actual info about what happened. You can’t judge solely based on the damage control statements from the vets.

That can’t be true - if the vets thought it was fine, no one is allowed to have any other opinions on it according to Jim bob
It wasn't only the players/vets.

The issue isn't what was reported.

The issue was the going thru a phone for several minutes while they weren't on facility .

That is much different then being in a team meeting and asking to see pictures of a family in order to get to know them

Yeah, Bill Daly tried and failed to do damage control too. Not a good look tiobe caught lying like that but I'm sure he doesn't give a shit.
Not sure he was lying, seems the NHLPA was about to close the investigation at that point, but then they got more info who was involved.
A day or 2 later it was "the NHLPA is still investigating" and after that I was wondering what is taking so long.

Nhlpa disagrees...
Well, apparently the younger players had a different experience than the vets.

Initially, the team, the NHL and the NHLPA were satisfied when captain Boone Jenner and 682-game NHL veteran Johnny Gaudreau indicated there was nothing nefarious with what Babcock did. However, the organizations reversed course when some of Blue Jackets’ younger players said they weren’t comfortable with what had occurred.

According to multiple sources, one of the most serious concerns was a meeting that occurred away from team facilities that included “several minutes” of looking through a phone. That was beyond the scope of what was initially understood to have occurred.

I wonder what impact this will have on Jarmo.

I have OCD in some ways it's a blessing, in others it's a curse. Visitors or cleaners moving things can set me off, waitresses find it funny how I arrange everything on the table. The dancers laugh when a waitress moves my receipt bin or napkin holder and I immediately have to move it back.
Other ways it's great as I immediately recognise when something is out of place, or a peculiarity and that has worked out great in some bad places

I'm similar. It's a little like that old detective drama, Monk. I never watched an episode but the clips I saw seemed on point.

Really though I just consider myself a neat freak, and get a good laugh out of the people on the hour shows that have to open and close a door seven times (no offense to them).

The key is to notice it says X instead of TWITTER before you post or it's more of a hassle. If you copy/paste (even if you are browsing twitter.com) many links now appear as X when copied/pasted. If you paste, change X to TWITTER, then post reply it should be okay. If you paste, hit post reply then realize it was X instead of TWITTER HFBoards puts the URL tags around the link instead of the MEDIA tags so you can't simply edit your post, change X to TWITTER, then save the edited post because it is still URL instead of MEDIA and won't embed. It's easiest to edit the post by deleting what is saved, pasting the link and changing X to TWITTER then saving the edit. It's a lot, lol.

Got it to work. Thanks!

That’s what I was doing wrong. I kept forgetting to change it to Twitter before posting and then would go back to edit it after posting.

I don't have a problem with having another NHL team in Atlanta (or wherever else).

I DO have a huge problem with putting an all-new 33rd team there though, when shit show franchises such as Arizona are already in existence.

Move Arizona to Atlanta & have their ownership group invest whatever expansion fee would have been applicable, directly into the league.

I generally do appreciate what Bettman has done. But he needs to allow his ego to take a loss in certain situations.

Maybe this sounds over simplified?

I agree. Fix Arizona first and then work the new cities.

Atlanta, Houston, Quebec City, and San Antonio make sense, as does San Diego. Pick 4, go to 36 teams, keep it even.

There would be no expansion fee in that case as the current Arizona owners would need to be paid for their franchise. And they certainly are no paying an expansion fee to move the franchise from Arizona to Atlanta.
