an absolute gutless puke who shudnt be in this league anymore. one of the most bizarre instigator fights ive ever seen. oddman rush up the ice and makes a beeline straight to a guy without the puck to attack him. should be a rule where a goal is awarded when u stop an oddman rush to attack someone.
Imagine if the Islanders scored before the attack started

What a gutless thug. Honestly kind of annoyed that Reaves hasn't made him answer for the Blais injury. I know that one wasn't blatantly obvious and there was grey area to claim it was accidental, but with his history it's more than suspicious enough, and considering the outcome he should have been held accountable.

Reaves is all talk. You know the veteran tough guy. We have seen this before. I wish the Rangers can develop a tough guy like their own Matt Martin. I wonder if Will Cuylle can be that, but I really think he is a 3rd liner maybe a power forward Josh Anderson type

I understand the Subban hate, but he went after a player than injured one of their best players? Pretty sure this board was up in arms that Wilson flung Panarin around like a rag doll and no one did shit. Let's not be hypocrites here.

Are you seriously comparing a hockey hit that wasn't even dirty to Wilson body slamming Panarin without a helmet on? You can't be serious.

Devils almost tie this game. Islanders can’t score with the empty net either 4-3. Corey Schneider his 1st win in the NHL in 2 calendar years

It is literally commonplace for players to go after other players even when clean hits are involved. This isn't a f***ing new concept and everyone hates "when things like that happen" until it involves one of their players.

I always see people on this board crying about Reaves not being more of a goon we supposedly signed him on for, but I have to think our coaching staff wants to reign that shit back. The point is, I'm not going to waste time raging on a play a player makes when the entire league is known for doing the same thing.

The idea behind Reaves was primarily to be a deterrent, and largely I think he been successful in that role. The measuring stick for that isn't exclusively Wilson, but that incident was undeniably the straw that broke the camel's back, and he has been noticeably quiet against us this year. But beyond being a peacekeeper, I wish he'd be more willing to go and initiate and instigate against guys when needed and force them to engage and answer. Certainly don't want him taking cheap shots like Wilson, but willingness to be a bit more aggressive and set the tone. I like him but I do see some of what you're saying, the Wilson thing was high profile, he was specifically targeted to address the problem, and to me it feels sometimes like he's a celebrity on tour.

islanders remaining schedule is really tough...14 games which includes 2 games each against carolina, pittsburgh and washington. and single games against tampa, toronto, florida, st louis and dallas

Washington's schedule isn't the easiest either, but they have the points in hand.

Next three are vs Tampa, @ Pitt, vs Boston (back to back).

Islanders are all on the road: @ Dallas, @ Carolina, @ St. Louis (back to back)

All they need to do is be within 4 points when they go back to back against each other at the end of the season.

The absolute irony it would be if on the last day the Islanders need the Rangers to be Washington to get in. If there is nothing in it for the Rangers, I'm sitting every players and rolling the spares and emergency call ups.

Whatever tiny amount of respect I had for Subban as a player has completely disappeared this season.
I for one am really sick of this type of retaliation on clean & standard hits. Like I get sticking up for your star players who are getting taken advantage of, or if it's a dirty hit, or blindside hit, or knee on knee, or even a questionable hit. If this sort of justice was meted out on Subban, he'd be out for the season with a broken face.

There needs to be some sorta heavy punishment for attacking a player who landed a clean hit.
But the league sees it as acceptable/appropriate.
Weve had terrible incidents in hockey both due to shitty ref's and the leagues joke of a "player safety department".

The arizona game was a shit show that the league considered nothing wrong. When a dude beats a 30g scorer for "skilling it up", thats a travesty and the league should've suspended him for 20 games.

The league has had ample time to figure out how to balance keeping the physical play in the game, while also getting rid of the stupid hits that turn off new fans. The game needs to grow, and its the skill that grows it, not the head bashing.
