That’s still a bargain for what he is. he’s virtually a point per game defenseman. Those guys get paid. He may love Carolina, but I’m sure he also loves money and someone is going to be really happy to pay him a ton of it.

let’s be real, if he didn’t have all the off ice history this is a player who is looking at 8-9 this summer.
Without a doubt....because of his issues? he will likely cost himself 50 million before he is done playing . Sad....

That looks like another slick skate kick by Crosby...he is a pro at it . Bruins were unsure at the time but I bet after they watched all the angles they will think different . He is like Subban....slick as shit at that stuff.....Crosby knew where his skate was . He likely did not intend for him to get hurt...but he had all intentions of taking him down . It was a rough night in hockey...lot of cheap shots and fights and such....Foligno with the knee in his bout with Lowry....Marchand....Ovie scrap....

Can you imagine the fall out if it was Crosby going head first into the boards and it was done by Marchand...same play ...different guys involved . It would be front page news and likely 10 games for Marchand if so LOL......change the names and people see it all differently .

Pittsburgh is legit a good team and have been for a long time.

Their issues recently have been getting into the playoffs and then crapping their pants for whatever reason.
I remember a few ex-penguins players talking about the culture surrouding the team. Saying the intensity level during practises is off the roof.

Pitt will probably finish top 2 in the division and then shit their pants in round 1 again. (unless they play us lol).

That system + veteran leadership = regular season wins but i don't think they have a good enough team to go deep anymore.

Penguins just seem f***ing unbeatable.

They have these seasons where they just seem to win every game.

Don't understand it.

Got to admit I think I was upset to then see the Caps lost too. Would like to see them challenge Pens for a 2-3 spot.

I don't want a first round matchup with Pittsburgh. That's one team I don't want to be one and done against. Can't take losing to them.

Then again there's plenty of time for us to fall into a WC spot too so who knows.
Difficult for me to say. Pittsburgh has fallen apart in the playoffs in recent seasons. I also don't believe in Jarry. The question is whether or not we can put enough offensive pressure on him for it to matter.

My money is on Gorton trying to hire Jim Montgomery this summer for a 2nd time (meets the other pre-req that Montgomery was born in Montreal). As long as a recovering alcoholic is fine w/ a team owned by Molson.
Jacques Montgomerie?

has MSL had any previous coaching experience? I feel like he was an unofficial coach for the Rangers a few seasons ago or maybe he was just showing up at camp for fun. Gorton knows what he's doing here.

Out of all of Gortons moves while here, trading Miller has to be the worst one. Just yikes. He’s turned into a helluva player.
This jibes with what Machinehead's been saying. Our organization is ok with our brand of pseudo hockey and laid back culture where leadership is de-centralized. Guys like Miller, Howden and Duclair go elsewhere and become real hockey players. Ex-Rangers love coming back to play us and work us over.

With Miller being 28 and a PPG player, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Could you imagine another PPG player on this team? We would rock.

I always liked JT. Strong as an Ox.
