the East is so different it's scary

Columbus seems like the only team with a fighting chance still. Since the break they won 8 out of their last 11 games. I don't see any other teams ahead of them falling out though. The Jackets are still 8 games out of the last wildcard.

Blackwell makes it 4-3. I would not mind Blackwell at the deadline. Better than Hunt in the top 6
Isn't it funny how people complained about how he was getting minutes that Kaapo and Laf should have been getting. and now, we want him back.
You don't know what you got, until...
Fickle, fickle Rangers fans.

Chicken and egg, no? I was definitely one of the loudest Blackwell complainers here last year. But, my complaints largely centered on my opinion that his ice time should have been going to Laf or Kakko in what was clearly still a rebuilding/development year. Who knows where we are with those two players this season if one of them had been given a real opportunity to grow as an offensive threat last year?

This year is obviously different. They are competing for home ice and we’re playing Dryden Hunt in that spot. It’s an invalid comparison.

The Metro is a true battle. Carolina is not a full blown lock at the top. I would be happy if we take one of the meetings with them this year. But if we take two? Muddies things up quite nicely.
TBL isn't helping us tonight, but at this point in the year, we want to luck out and get home ice. Any advantage will be necessary. Time to start rooting hard for everyone but our immediate divisional rivals.

What is this…a shot attempt every ≈13 seconds?

How it that even possible?

Carolina is vulnerable without DeAngelo & Smitty as crazy as that is to say. Ethan Bear is a trainwreck and some guy named "Chatfield" is their 6th D-man. We knew they were going to make aove for a defenseman all along, but they are very desperate now

They sure are. They are an amazingly balanced team, easily one of the best, but the coming weeks will show if they have the poise to withstand being the target and if their depth steps up.
Barring injury they would still be a favorite going into any series aside from an Atlantic crossover, but a slip to 2nd is in the realm. Hoping it's us who overtakes.

Wasn't Ethan Bear supposed to be another up-and-coming young defenseman?

I didn’t even know plays for Carolina now (although I guess it’s prudent to always assume every defenseman in the NHL plays for Carolina).

I think he has a cult following around the league, but every time ive watched him hes barely an NHL player

I get a certain warm and fuzzy feeling watching the Isles get ******. Two goals in 45 seconds. 4-3 Canucks. I’m smiling like the Grinch right now.

They play hard but are allergic to winning. Absolute disaster of a season for them. They have a lot of work to do in the off season but have a lousy prospect pool and have a hard time signing FA's. Makes me sad. :D

Feels good after having to listen to my Isles fan buddies tell me all summer that Sorokin > Shesterkin & Barzal > Zibanejad.

Oh yeah. They deserve everything they get this year. Most delusional fanbase in sports as I have said many times before. Not only does the team suck and the fans suck but their broadcast crew is one of the worst also and the production is high school level.

This ESPN broadcast of the VGK-Bos game is so cringeworthy. Mess & Chelios have never worked as game analysts before tonight. Not sure who thought this was a good idea.
Yeah Chelios is doing okay because he's keeping his comments short but Mess is kind of tripping over his own words trying to be more descriptive. Better to keep it short and sweet.
