If the cost on Debrusk is very low and Panarin finally agrees to play RW, then I could be onboard with that add. Bring him in, see if a change of scenery works. He’s a big body who has been able to score in this league and at 25 years old, it’s not a horrible gamble. Much of his trouble has been consistency

Zuccarello with another assist. Wins the faceoff on the powerplay, and makes the shot Wild converts on the open net rebound. Easy career year for him

Kind of crazy that arguably the worst team in the league (Montreal) took arguably the best team in the league (Colorado) to OT.

It's really not crazy. It happens. People forget the bad teams are paid professionals also. Thats why it is stupid to get so over the top upset with bad games when the best team in the league loses 20-25 times in a season. Carolina lost 7-4 to the devils tonight also.

The Piles have played 2 quality teams this month, Washington and Toronto, and lost them both. They have played 4 road games in the last 2 months. Too bad they won't be able to play Philly and Arizona at home much longer. The schedule is going to get tough soon and reality is going to come calling like the grim reaper.

You'll never hear the end of it of the tragedy of biblical proportions of their road schedule to start the season though.

Was a bad day for them besides losing to their favorite player John T ;)
Caps won, we won, Bruins won. Unfortunately, for them teams like the Bruins, Caps and especially the pens are not gonna fall apart. It's incredible but even the 2nd wild card is on pace for around 108 points.

Yup. They have as much a chance of catching the top 8 in the east as I do of winning the lottery. Both odds are about 50 million to 1. They have now played as many home games as road games and they are still 16 points behind Boston with only 4 games in hand. Their soft as warm butter schedule will get tougher and more condensed. I just hope Dino Lou makes a desperate move to try to make the playoffs and trades another 1st rounder.

As posted on the main boards. There are more teams that played as many or more road games (as a % of all games) than the Islanders and most of those teams have better point %.

Also, at some point your 4 or 5 games of Covid even if your situation is worse than the rest of the league is not that significant when you played 34 games.

They were just one of the first teams to get hurt by covid and they had games cancelled also. Most teams have endured a lot of guys missing because of covid, some had games cancelled and some didn't. The Rangers were hit pretty hard by covid on their last road trip out west and had zero games cancelled although they had like 4 AHLers playing games.

I will admit, they had a lot of guys out at the same time, and important guys. More than many teams. That said, it's not like they had their Covid squad for 10 games.

They had severe covid issues for 3 games and yes, they had like 7 or 8 guys missing in those games. The Rangers had 5 guys missing in multiple games on the last road trip, including their coach, and had zero games cancelled. I don't want to hear their fans excuses. Those covid games are not the reason they are near the bottom of the division. The reason is they are old, slow, and they suck. They lost Leddy and Eberle and replaced them with Chara and Parise.

The Piles had 13 road games to kick off the szn. We had 3 home games in the first 12, with only 2 of those in a row.

I don't think so. I've been telling my non-hockey friends (all of them) "the NHL is a bitch". Nothing unusual for a bad team to win over a clear favorite...

Thanks for the kind words for our legendary enforcer.
Gillies.nystrom..Brent sutter...howatt...just amazing what degree of toughness and more they brought to the table. Howatt destroyed Cashman and hit dornhoffer into another dimension..nyr never had that

Florida, Tampa, Toronto seem to be top 3 in EAST. ...odds indicate that as well. Nyr are 23 to 1 to win it all....not even close to those top 3
