I'd rather talk about Shattenkirk's strong productive start, who is on a team still figuring things out and rebuilding. But I am being biased with that. lol. Anyway hope it lasts for Shatty. He is a player I didn't want to see bought out, and it was just not the right timing for him when he came here, on top of the injuries. But there is no bad blood. It was a business decision. Same when they bought out Lundqvist. These guys are professionals.

Yeah things didn't work out here for him, but he made the best of it after being bought out in terms of business decisions he made. He took that one-year deal with Tampa and got a Cup out of it and then a multi-year contract from Anaheim.

Very typical democrat response.

Now there's the guy people actually hate for no reason!

Suggestion:

We have a "Former Rangers Discussion Thread" separate from this Around the NHL thread. I'm sick and tired of reading about the hemming and hawing about how our former players are destroying the league, and why this team gave up on them, et al.

I second this. The DeAngelo nonsense aside, it's exhausting anyway hearing about it every time a former Ranger farts.

Except Shattenkirk. Poor Shattenkirk. :(

Shatty still gets shat on but he was not utilized right until late last season, and this season he has been good. Ducks PP has come alive and he has been in the middle of it.

He is a guy you can root for. Native NY’er and a team player.

I agree that hearing about Ex-Rangers players can be annoying sometimes but there are some players I like to still see do well as long as it’s not against the Rangers of course.

There has been decisions by this organization to let certain players go that I don’t agree with. When a player has a fall out or demands a trade it’s kinda hard to root for that player’s success and can be cringeworthy when you have to read about it.

I hope I’m not out of line with Shatty. I thought some people here wanted to see him succeed and would like to see him tearing it up and hear about his success.

If the Hurricanes were smart they’d give him a microphone ASAP. Maybe follow it up with a dedicated Watch Your Tone Twitter account and a podcast while they’re at it.
Live taping for the next Storm Surge.

Eichel interview with Friedman. He said at times he thought he was going to Minnesota or Colorado.

Surprised he never mentioned the Rangers
Especially considering that one report, I forget from who, who said "that's where he wants to be, so the GM doesn't want to send him there" referring to the Rangers.

"Especially considering that one report [where he refers to being with the Rangers]"

Maybe that report was a bunch of BS???????????? :dunno:

We can pretty much bet our life savings PIT-PHI won't stay 2-1 PIT and PHI will tie it and go to OT.
